Sold My Entire Collection...Now I Want to Play Again

The title says it all. I sold my entire collection a while back but kept a deck for nostalgia.

My little cousin got interested in the game and naturally I want to play again now. I The only thing is I have promised myself not to spend any more money on it to the best of my ability; so now I have 1 deck to work myself back in. I left right when RoA was released. I have no idea where the meta-game has gone since then. Lets see how my priests/egyptian deck works for me!  ;D

Any playgroups near York, PA?

Welcome back to the game Tim! You should get in contact with the guys at Hanover, PA. I believe their next tournament is the 2nd. And if you ever change your mind about improving that deck of yours and get some Christmas/birthday cash, I'll be very happy to put together a great deal! There are quite a few Egyptian cards you from the new set you may want to consider, as well as some interesting things happening with Solomon's Temple Priests, Aaron, and the like.

this is the reason why I discourage people from quitting. and spending on cards in your situation is necessary cause its what I had to do nats 2012 to place 24 out of 65 players. and mind you, before then I had a hard time myself but the issue was, I lacked the cards to do so well

Brad mentioned the play area so south central PA and MD

There are several top tier players within an hour of you. Hanover PA has several top level players that love to play, interact in and out of redemption and we like to help each other. We would love to have join our area play group!

Yeah I am going to the local tournament in Hanover on the 2nd; it'll be nice playing again. And I'm not sure I've been emailing you. Craigslist maybe?

of course, that's how I was too, I had a firm belief that I could win with the cards I had but in reality, I was losing every game I played cause I myself didn't have the funds needed to buy cards but if you can buy individual cards for your decks, then it'll be very much worth while, as well as buying the tins one tin at a time to help boost up your deck. you say your playing a priests/egyptains deck?

I rarely see preists in this game since before the release of rock of ages, but I recommend picking up tins with egyptains such as pharaoh's baker, cupbearer, huge egyptain, and egyptain warden

I agree that if you want to play Egyptians (which is a really great defense btw) then you'll really want to get one tin that has Pharaoh's Magicians, Egyptian Magicians, Pharaoh's Cupbearer, Pharaoh's Baker, and 7 Years of Plenty in it.

That same tin also has the best Genesis offense stuff (Joseph, Rachael, Joseph Before Pharaoh, Forgiveness of Joseph) in it.  So if you ever wanted to switch to a Genesis offense (which I think is better than priests, especially paired with Egyptians), then you'll have a good start on it.

If I have the opportunity I will try to.

I've seen many other people that don't have money but want to upgrade their deck use trading as a way to get there.

Now I understand that you probably don't have Redemption cards for trade but maybe something else?  There are people that will trade for other card game stock and I've seen people on the message boards trading: movies, video games, records, computers, etc.

Just something for you to consider.
