Leviathan...What is its Label?

OK, so my question to everyone is this...

Is the Leviathan a Beast/Demon, or is it an Animal?

I have always considered it as a Beast/Demon, but then I realized no where in the Bible is mentioned like that. In the book of Job, it is shown and considered as one of our Creators real creations.

So what do you guys think?  :)

Out of curiosity, why is Leviathan male? How do we know Leviathan was not a mommy with little Levites swimming around?

Isn't it because of the male references? Does Hebrew language use his as gender neutral?

Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or HIS tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?

 2Canst thou put an hook into HIS nose? or bore HIS jaw through with a thorn?

 3Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?

It is neutral, because there was probably more than one kind in order for its species to survive.
So there might have been mommies and dadies with babies swimming all around, Lol  ;)

Leviathan in Redemption is considered male, for the reason Technoethicist described.

According to Jewish tradition, the female Leviathan is the main course at the wedding feast.

Are you sure about that? I dont think the Leviathan is according to the Levitical Dietary commands...
