Distribution question regarding rarity

Hello all,

I am new to this game.  I have some of the older starter decks, but before I consider investing in the booster, I wanted to find one thing out.  The whole blind booster aspect of the game concerns me.  I am aware that some ccgs are so hard to complete a set because they make some cards nearly impossible to get unless you are willing to pay big bucks.  What I am wondering is what is distribution. Like for this game?

I believe there are three main level of cards, common, rare, and ultra-rare.  How often are the rare and ultra-rare cards pulled.  Is it something like a rare per booster and ultra-rare for every 12 booster?  Also, how does the distribution pan out with newer sets like Cloud of Witnesses in which only some of the cards in the booster come from the new set with the rest coming from older set.  While I am thinking about that, are there rares and ultra-rares from the older sets in boosters like Cloud of Witnesses.

Thank you for your time and information.

Welcome to Redemption!!  :) I don't know exactly what the ratios are, but for the newer sets (Cloud of Witnesses, Persecuted Church, and Early Church), you get 1 rare (of the newest cards) per pack and approximately 1 ultra rare per box. With the rise in the price of singles, packs are definitely the way to go if you're just getting started and trying to build a collection. I also recommend though using Lackey to learn the game and get to the point where you can more specifically know which cards you'd like to go for.
