Good morning fellow redemption players. I have been playing around with my deck and have 100% decided to move from pale green to crimson defense. My question (after quite a bit of research) is which one is better?  Animals or Babylonians or even a mixture of both. I see both as very viable answers to what I’m running but am curious on everyone’s thoughts as to some pros and cons maybe I havnt thought of. Any thoughts?????

Animals

Serpent
Leviathan
Great fish
Fire foxes
Lions
Fiery serpents
Behemoth
Nebby

Babylonian

Nebby
Serpent
Conjurers
The deceiver
Astrologers
Nergalsharezer
Babylonian siege army
Mounted forces
Babylonian Merchants

It depends on what your offense is, because the best defensive is one that has good synergy with your offense. In general though, I’d say that a Babylonian heavy crimson splash deck is probably the best.
Some call me "Goofus"

If you are doing blue offense, try animals, most anything else will probably be more towards babs, but it will always be somewhat of a mix. Always use nebby, bab seige army, and probably fire foxes.  Also dont forget to include esau in any animal defense

I am running flood survivors as my offense. Basic 8 heroes of Noah his sons and their wives. Havnt splashes Jonah in yet. I was leaning more to animals but for some reason liked the Babylonians.

Babs are probably stronger, but you cant beat the synergy animals have with all the blue/crimson cards

I agree with Isaac - I tend to like leaning more heavily into Babylonians with some animals as well.

For what it's worth, my Flood deck ran mostly Babs with a few animals. The nats version had Babylonian unity in main deck with two animals in Reserve (Behemoth and Serpent). Since I was focusing on getting Ark right away, the two in reserve let me run Two By Two and make sure that even if I got Ark before I found it, it would still have a target. That said, I think it was worth it to focus on Babs because Merchants is insanely good, especially if you can get it right away (oh hi Darkness soul), and the fact that Noah can get them from either deck or discard for the low low price of any crimson card makes them a constant threat. Combine this with Siege Army and Nergal (especially with PoC's Siezed by Babylon) for power and Nebby (especially with Betrayal) for speed, and Babs have a very consistent and powerful package.

I was pretty impressed by the Nebby to Great Fish play that JD ran, so I'm trying it in a similar version of the deck now. Jury's still out on if it's worth it or not, though if it is I think that it would be correct to run a Leviathan as well, making it truly a crimson splash.

Thanks so much for the advice. So what do you guys feel about the lists I have?  Is that basically the characters for animals and Babylonians that I have up at the top?  I feel the only one I’m missing is if I run animals to include Esau.

So I now have decided on my characters and now I need to decide my enhancements. I have pulled the following aside any thoughts?

Swift horses
Seized by Babylon
Regrets
Nicolatian teachings
Nebuchadnezzar dream
Midianite attack
Head of gold
Dream
Dissension in Antioch
Disagreement over mark
Deceitful sin
Betrayal
Belshazzar banquet

Obviously I’m not gonna use them all and I need to cut down. I’d like to get to around 6
