Something has been eating me up for years, and I have to get it out in the open. And since it's a lot easier to form digital words while facing a screen than physical ones while facing someone you care about, I feel like posting a prayer request here is the best first step I can take to freeing this from myself. Even now, though, it's taking pretty much all the strength I have to type this post, as I personally know many of the people who will likely be reading it, and facing them afterwards is not something I look forward to. Anyway, you might be wondering by now what my problem really is, and as much as I would like to ramble on until people forget what they are even reading, I will sum it up in one word: fornication. Yeah...that. I won't go into details. This is pretty much all the strength I have to say to anyone at the moment, so for now I will just ask humbly for prayers that I may gather enough strength to discuss this with my parents tomorrow. What a week this is going to be...

P.S. If you do not know what that one word means, please ask your parents about it, not me. Also, if this topic embarasses you, you do not have to post here, but I will appreciate your prayers nonetheless.

Praying, Very much praying. It takes A LOT to man up to what we do wrong but admitting it is the first step to fixing it.

BB, I will pray for you. But you also are going to need some accountability from Godly people in your life. Talking to you parents is a good idea. It also might be good to talk to a youth leader/pastor/Sunday school teacher who you can trust. If those don't work for you, then I would be willing to talk to you more about this over PM.

I told my Dad about this late last night. His reaction was pretty much as I predicted, and I feel a lot better now that I've told him. I know it will take me a while to recover from this, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to rebuild the trust that I have betrayed.

I respect you very much for posting this. That is not an easy thing to admit or tell your parents about or anyone else for that matter. That takes guts for sure. The fact that you recognize it is a sin and are apologizing to your parents and God about it is a good first step. I'll be praying for you as you continue to overcome this.

As for those of you who read this on the boards and will see you in person, honestly it'd take a very rude and tacky person to bring this up in person. I wouldn't worry about anyone asking you about this or that being awkward.

Also, I think every guy struggles with this, christian or otherwise. While that is in no way condoning the action, be encouraged that you are not alone with this problem, and that most guys know what its like to deal with it. (myself included)

I will pray for you. Don't be discouraged if you stumble a few times walking out of this. That is why God gives us grace, because if we were supposed to do it perfectly the first time, we would all be in a lot of trouble.

I believe that in today's perverted world, every male has fallen to temptation like that in some way or another.
As for support, we'll leave it at the fact that compared to some things I've done, admitting a porn addiction is nothing.
I've been completely healed, forgiven and delivered from everything I've done, so there is hope!

I have been addicted to porn. Admitting that is easy compared to some sexual things in my past, which are between me, God, and my future wife (wherever she is).
