Wisdom Teeth Surgery
« on: November 04, 2011, 05:28:45 PM »
I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed two weeks from today (11/18). Only one of them isn't at least partially out so they aren't expecting any specific complications, but surgery always comes with inherent risks so prayer for a successful and problem-free surgery would be appreciated. Thankfully, my dentist recommended IV sedation so I'll be out cold for the whole thing (though that does cost quite a bit).

Speaking of cost, it's a rather expensive procedure and I'll be applying for Care Credit in order to be able to pay it off over the next year, so I'm hoping I get approved for that (my credit is good so it shouldn't be a problem, but I'm the kind of person to worry about things like that, haha).

Also, the procedure is the day before my niece's 2nd birthday party, so I'm hoping I don't get too puffy and don't experience any large amount of pain (though they did give me a prescription for a narcotic painkiller if I need it, heh) so I can at least make it through the party if not fully enjoy it (one's first niece only turns 2 once, after all :P).

I've talked with many people about this kind of procedure over the last year since I first found out I would be needing it done, and I've heard both encouraging tales and horror stories, so I'm rather nervous about the whole thing. :S

praying for ya bro, after a couple of hours sleep post-surgery I was fine and playing video games while my lovely wife (fiancee at the time) took excellent care of me. Hope you have a similar experience

I was already planning to spend that weekend at my mother's house, and she's a nurse, so I expect I'll be doubly taken care of by her, haha.
