Pain, Money, and all things annoying
« on: July 15, 2011, 02:49:12 PM »
Short story: One of my wisdom teeth is partially impacted (under the gum) and this creates a little pocket where an infection likes to grow and cause all sorts of problems. Today was the third time I've had to go to the dentist and get antibiotics for it. Bad news is that as long as the wisdom tooth is there, the infection will keep coming back.

Prayer 1: Apparently my insurance doesn't cover the medicine I got today, so I had to spend $78 on it. I'm a poor college student, so it's not exactly going to be easy to pay that back (thank goodness for credit cards so at least I could get the medicine now when I need it, but oy vey). I'm going to talk with my insurance agent/brother-in-law Ken4Christ4ever and see if there isn't anything we can do about it, but my hopes are pretty low right now.

Prayer 2: The pain is incredibly potent. I've managed to keep it lessened with various pain medicine combinations (naproxen and ibuprofen, ftw) but it never goes completely away, so prayer for a speedy working of the antibiotic would be appreciated.

Prayer 3: The WI State tournament is tomorrow, and I've had a grand total of maybe 6 hours of sleep the last 2 nights, so I really need to get a good night's sleep tonight. Prayers that the pain subsides enough that I can sleep tonight would be great.

Prayer 4: The wisdom teeth will have t

Praying for you. Theoretically, at the tournament tomorrow, you could ask one of the guys to use a pair of pliers to pull the tooth. :)
We will be going home to Jesus soon!

Have you tried using salt water daily to help fight the infections?  It might help.

Praying for ya.

Will pray for you.  Does your insurance cover the surgery to get the wisdom teeth out?

If you are looking for cheaper insurance alternatives you may want to look into this.  I have looked into it and can't afford it right now but I have some good friends who have used it for a long time and the birth of their youngest child was completely paid for through it.  They also have discounts for college students.  It is a Christian ministry.
May you prosper greatly!

Thanks for the prayers everyone. The pain is getting better as the antibiotics continue to take effect and my mom (a nurse) gave ma  strict regiment of pain medication which is also helping). Also, I did get some sleep Friday night so the tournament yesterday went smoothly and was a lot of fun. ^_^

I have not tried that, though it sounds like something I could look into. Thanks for the suggestion. ^_^

Ken and I are working on finding out if my insurance would cover the removal surgery, but if it doesn't I will definitely look into the ministry above, thanks a bunch for the referral. ^_^
