Last chance to enter a Regional Tournament before Nationals.  TEXAS has it all.  We are expecting over 20 participants.  Hope to see folks from Arkansas and East and South Texas as well as our playgroup in the Dallas/FW area.

Hey Terry,

Do you have a tentative schedule for Saturday?

BTW - It looks like Bethany will be able to make this tournament (she's finally home from school for the rest of the Summer).  See ya there.

There will be 3 sessions at this regionals.
Morning:  beginning at approx 9:00 am

Players will have 3 choices.

Type 1-2 Player  (4 rounds)
Type 2-2 Player  (3 rounds)
Closed Deck      (3 rounds)

Pizza will be ordered for lunch for $2 all you can eat or you are welcome tro grab some other fast food.

The afternoon festivities (which I hope to start by 2 pm) will include:

Type 1-Multi (3 rounds)
Type 2 Multi (2 or 3 rounds depending)

At the close of these events, a third session will immediately follow.

That will be Booster Draft

Glad to hear Bethany will be able to make it.  See you on Saturday, Buddy

No. When it comes to promos, the rule is as follows:

For locals and districts, you can't use a promo that you just received in the tournament that day, but you can use any local or district promo at any tournament you didn't receive them at, no matter the level of torunament.

For State tournaments, you can use any promo from previous years, or previous local or district promos from that year. You cannot use any State, Regional or National (obviously) Promo new that year.

For Regional tournaments, you can use any promo from previous years, or previous local, district, or state promos from that year. You cannot use any Regional or National Promo new that year.

For National tournaments, all real cards all legal except the new National Promo, including State and Regional promos from that year.

So essentially, you cannot use Goliath at any Regional tournaments this year.
Press 1 for more options.

Thanks for posting the schedule, Terry.  I just found out Bethany and I will be accompanied by a brand new player.  I am glad the closed deck is first so he can get his feet wet and get some cards to work with.  He said he has had some cards in the past and done some research on the game, but I don't think he has actually played before (or still has any cards for that matter).  Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.  Be there or be square.

Three new/returning players arrived for a 4 hour tune-up/instructional lessons this afternoon.  It was a blast.  The players helped me set up for tomorrow's regionals, too.  23 confirmed and hopefully some unexpected guests.

Sarah is trying to teach a member of her household (good thing there are nine of them) the game before tomorrow. Her eldest sister she referred to is unexpectedly going out of the area for tomorrow, so she's going to try the game on a few of her younger siblings. They're very accepting of card games so hopefully one (or more!) will come. My other friend I was talking about is also getting in town this afternoon, I'm trying to contact him to see if I can teach him the game quickly tonight. If I post a deck over the internet, could you review it and deem it worthy of Sarah playing with in T1?

Thank you so much Terry

Sure, but Ben and John Jacob are the best T-1 deck builders.  You can ask them tomorrow.

Thanks for the great time. I went there telling myself that if I won 2/3 types I would keep playing. However since I lost both type 1' s. And having not enough time for booster,I shall be getting rid of most of my collection. I am keeping only a few cards. Thanks for the memories!

God Bless Y'all!
Stephen

P.S.  I might come back later in the year. Right now, I'm a bit discouraged.
Nice meeting the new people. Even the folks from Ark and Saw. :)

I understand how you feel. I got destroyed in a Pokemon game once and didnt pick up any cards in a long time. Dont worry, itll pass and plus you got some great players in the area. It only makes you a stronger player my friend. Dont give up hope.
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

SouthCentralRegional Results!

23 participants, with ages ranging from 7 to 64, squared off early Saturday morning.  When the dust cleared later that night (around 10:30 pm), all could agree that the fellowship and gameplay was fun, informative and exciting.  New friendships were made, our Arkansas brothers got to know their Texas brethern better and we all got a little more respect and understanding for new strategies and gamesmanship.  As the host, I felt that this was the best tournament I have ever had the pleasure to preside over (with invaluable assistance especially in rules interpretation from Ben Shadrick and Marcus Parker).  I hope one year soon we will be in a position to be able to host a Nationals Tournament in Dallas.  Our playgroup is growing and we are beginning a new push for recruitment of new players through church youth leaders and word of mouth.

Enough of that.  Here are the results from the 6 categories that were offered.

Closed Deck:
1st place:  Noel Mendoza
2nd place: Terry Markoff
3rd place:  Xavier Mendoza, Noah Johnson and Sara Rigall

Type 1-2 player:
1st place:  Jacob Martinez
2nd place: Chad Soderstrom
3rd place:  C.J. Jackson/Jon Myers (tie)

C.J. reeled off 6 consecutive victories to close out his night.

Type 1-Multi
1st place:  C.J. Jackson
2nd place: Kenneth O'Malley (from Arkansas)
3rd place:  Jacob Martinez

Type 2-2 player:
1st place:  Ben Shadrick
2nd place:  Marcus Parker
3rd place:  Buddy Dunn

Type 2-Multi:
1st place:  Ben Shadrick
2nd place: Marcus Parker
3rd place:  Buddy Dunn

Booster Draft:
1st place:  Ben Shadrick
2nd place:  Terry Markodd
3rd place:  Neeka Parker

I do believe most everyone had a great time.  Hope to see a good turnout in September when we offer our first tournament of the new year.

don't give up bro I remember a time I couldn't win a game to save my life and would get discouraged but learn to channel that into motivation. now anytime I lose to somebody  I want to get another shot at them. Right now I'm thinking of taking up type two and join the dark side with Ben just so I can beat him in his element since he is the best. Its all motivation if u can channel it bro.

Just wanted to say me nd CJ had a good time and had to leave early but it was good seeing all the people that showed up.  Glad Jon came back because he is a really good player nd adds to alot of competition. Another player I see alot of potential in is, can't remember his name but but I timed out with that dude is pays attention to detail nd with some more experience he will be a beast. Chad its always a war when we Duke it out bro looking forward to the next time we meet again. Promising new comers like Sarah, Ken, chuck Norris etc..wish I could got to nats thats been my goal since I started but I can't but can't wait fo the next tournament deuces
