OPEN LOCAL TOURNAMENT

Monday, March 8th

The tournament season continues here in Orlando. Our next tournament will be a weekday special. Professor Underwood will be our special guest, so make sure you take advantage of attending to meet the master himself.  ;D

I still have not been able to secure a church for hosting, but we are on the cusp of approval, so keep praying. For now, tournaments will continue to be held at my new home:

17332 Woodcrest Way
Clermont, FL  34714

I am right near the intersection of Route 192 and US 27, eight miles from Disney World. I also have an air hockey table in my garage, and a Wii in the living room. You are welcome to swim in my unheated pool if you wish.

We will be starting at 2:30pm, with deck checks beginning at 2:15pm (or whenever I get home from work). The current category offerings will be:

Type 1 (2-player)
Type 1 (Multiplayer)

The tournament will be free. My players only have Type 1 decks, so I have not scheduled Type 2 categories. Sorry.  :'(

This is Orlando, so there are many places to eat out. We can order pizza locally from Hungry Howie's. There is a Wendy's, McDonald's, KFC, and Taco Bell less than a mile from my house. If you are travelling far, overnight accomodations can be arranged. There are a plethora of hotels and vacation homes if you want privacy, but you are welcome to crash at my house if you don't mind a sleeper sofa. ;D

PM or post if you have any questions or just to let me know you are coming.

I'm really looking forward to my first tournament ever in Florida (or for that matter, south of KY).  As for the whole "master" thing, I'm glad you put the smiley afterward so people know to not take that seriously :)

I also an air hockey table in my garage, and a Wii in the living room.
I didn't know you also had air hockey.  That's a nice bonus.  I love me some air hockey!

Due to Florida laws to control flooding, my garage slopes down toward the driveway, so make sure you get the side away from the driveway so that the puck will glide faster. Unless, of course, you want to be on the downward side so that when the puck slows down in neutral territory, it is more likely to slide back to you.  ;)

Also, we will have to beat out RR, who will want to set up his Attacktix on the Air Hockey table since it makes a nice arena. I would certainly love to turn the air on during an Attacktix game just to see if the figures lift off!  :o

This has great potential for a new game.  Air Attacktix!!!  We combine the two and see how many Attackix characters we can knock off the opponents side of the table by hitting them with the puck.  I love it!

We could even come up with a scoring system.  Each figure could have an "Ejectability Quotient" based on how difficult they would be to force off the table, and we could have multipliers based on distance thrown from the field of play.  Oh yeah, soooo many possibilities :)

Kudos to the host of this tournament.  Know that you will be missed by all of us here in the North East, but that's how this great Game is spread ....... Godbless!!!!

Just a reminder of the upcoming Local. Remember that this is a Monday tournament, to accomodate Professor Underwood during his brief Florida visit, so plan accordingly. For information about the next Local on Saturday, March 20th, see the following link:

I argue that Prof Underwood should be banned for having buckler in his deck! ;)

As an official host, I would be banned if I banned a card just for my tournaments. If the Prof wants a Buckler, he gets a Buckler. The fact that you had no answer for Buckler is your own problem.  ;)

Are you kidding me?  That was an original Buckler.  There is no answer for that card.  It's no wonder I was able to defeat Josh with that card in my deck.  His only consolation was the fact that he schooled me in Air Hockey Attacktix :)

I'd like to thank YMT for hosting a great tournament.  He has a wonderful family and playgroup and it was a pleasure getting to meet them and hang out together.

Report: Prof Underwood cleaned house. Sadly, Prof's skills in air-hockey attacktix are not as good as redemption ;) / end report.
