It is looking good for the return of the 'Knight o Time' to the Ohio State Tournament!

Hey, Travis, have you heard whether there could be enough young players to have a Type A contest at the tournament?  My daughter (10) has expressed a desire to play, but I am not sure she is quite up to rigors of Type 1 yet.

Also, would there be any peeps in the Dayton region who would be interested in a "Test & Tune" gathering this weekend?  We would simply get together, build/test decks for the State tournament, and fellowship.  I would be willing to host it at my house on Saturday (6 June) afternoon if there's any interest.  Please PM me for more info!  Thanks!

Man it would be great to see you again.  I just wish it wasn't an 11 hour drive to get there.  I wish you all the best!

I'll have to check with my wife about this weekend.  What timeframe are you thinking?

P.S.  Mark, I'm fairly sure it is only a couple hours if you fly straight here.

P.S.S.  From what I've heard you should take advantage of that 11 hour drive while you still can.  It won't be long before you'll be saying "I miss the days when it only took a 11 hours to visit my Redemption friends..."

That's a good point.  Now to I just need to find that free plane ticket I left lying around :)

That is also a good point.  An 11 hour drive is way better than having to swim across the Pacific Ocean!

JP, I was thinking about doing something in the afternoon on Saturday... Do you have to work this weekend?  If so, I may just bring by a couple of decks down to the store and play a few games with you between customers

Yeah, I'd definitely like to get some practice before next weekend!  I'm probably going to be tied up with family stuff in the morning/afternoon.  I work from 5 to late so that would be fine with me if you want to stop by.  There is usually some time during tournament between 6 and 9.  Hope to see you tomorrow!

P.S. do you want to work on team decks for Ohio State (assuming you can make that late category and would like to team up)?

No problems there!  I will try to stop by after supper (7-ish?).  I think teaming up would be fun.  I have to warn you, though, that I haven't thought about teams in a looong time!  I hope you got some good ideas because I am still dealing with info overload with the new cards :)

I have to say that I was part of one of the most epic Booster Draft games I have ever witnessed. Rod Stewart was my worthy opponent who played honorably and well. I would love to be able to chronicle the game but lack the perspective to do so right now. All I can say is that I was able to win by the slimmest of margins and go on to win the Ohio State Booster Draft title. The MVP of my deck was a Fallen Warrior who was able to get huge in most of my games and was converted in two of them and was able to make no less than two successful rescues. Anyone who wants to recall how the game went are welcome to do so here.

I think the real MVP of that game was Covenant With Adam.  It could be argued that you still might have won without Fallen Warrior, but there is no way you win without CoA  :)

So much fun!
In the game with Rod the essential situation was thus. Both Travis and Rod had defenses that could lock out each other. The score was 4/3 in Rod's favor and time was running low. Knowing both players hands Rod could have sat back and won by having the higher score, however (like I would have done) he wanted to rescue the final soul. He makes a rescue attempt with Agur 8/10 and Travis blocks with Esau for initiative. Travis pulls out the Haman's Plot he drafted and discards Rod's best defensive characters and Agur. (I was imagining the "when it gets real" thread here). Travis then manages to make a rescue attempt for a tie right before time runs out. However Rod had site lock so it appeared Travis couldn't get through because his one character of matching brigade was too small. However with Covenant of Adam being flipped up Travis managed to clutch the game in OT. Epic finish that payed off well for Travis.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your strength.

Wow neat finish!  Who won each category...and did you thoroughly punish my partner for leaving the game during teams? :D

It was me who made the executive decision to leave after the second round for teams, really sorry about that. I would have loved to continue playing since me and my brother were 2-0 with a 9 soul differential, but we needed to get up early to get back there then next morning and it was already 1:30.
