Cactus' announcement as follows:

Morristown, NJ--July 8-9, 2011

TOURNEY DETAILS:

Event Website: DeXCon 14
Event Address: (HYATT MORRISTOWN AT HEADQUARTERS PLAZA)
3 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 US

NOTE: Cactus will announce the minimum required 4 events on its website but Rob has given me a go signal for flexibility beyond four events and with which event/s to do on each day. However, only Sealed Deck will be announced as a closed event on Cactus' website. Sealed Deck will also be featured as the last event for the tournament assuming we will have a good base of newer players from the convention itself. T2 2Player, originally scheduled at DeXCon for Friday, can be moved to Saturday depending on demand from current players.

Thus---
Gaming sked that will appear on DeXCon's website:
Friday (08July)--
Deck check begins at 5PM. Play begins at 6PM, ends 12MN or earlier:
Type 1 Multi-player OR Type 2 2Player

Saturday (09July)--
Deck check begins at 9AM. Play begins at 10AM:

Phase 1 (10AM-2PM):
Type 1 2Player

Phase 2 (3-7PM):
Sealed Deck

DeXCon 14 VOLUNTEERS for Cactus Game Design (max 3 persons -- perhaps up to 5):
If you wish to volunteer to help me at DexCon 14 (1st come first saved basis), let me know as soon as possible. You must not change your mind on a whim towards the event.

You will not get paid for your service but you enjoy DexCon's gaming pass for 5 days, free food (and lodging for males only since I have only one hotel room booked) by being part of the demo team, and you may play NJ State tourney events for free (all open events free + choose one open event for free). You must commit at least 6 hours per day of evening service (4pm-10pm flexible and can change) to promote Redemption and Cactus Games for at least 3 dates (except during tourney time if you are playing).

Speaking of free food, please do not volunteer if you have a weakness for sugar and are diabetic. They have an eat-all-you-can evening for:

I will totally volunteer, but it's tentative. I'll get back with more certainty in a week or two.

/college kids will do anything for free food.

I need the volunteers to PM me with their final plan.

Now, the weekend before the NJ event is another event, more of a Catholic-sponsored inter-denominational conference where Cactus will be selling products, It's from July 1-3 and also in NJ. We will have a local tourney on Saturday. If you wish to volunteer here too, all I can offer you is my hotel room for free, 5-star hotel facilities. I can offer for free only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Great value vienna sausage, and cup noodles, with unlimited Sam's soda. If you are also volunteering for DeXCon then perhaps I'll try to find you a floor or bed to crash in from July 3-5 on Long Island before we all leave for NJ again on June 6th. Perhaps Randal can accommodate a couple if he decides to crash in Wantagh.

LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS as soon as possible. PM me your contact phone numbers, too.

Alex, the answer to your question depends on whether you are volunteering or not. If you are, board and lodging (for males only) are all free-of-charge.

I need final thoughts by the end of this week.

id love to do nj states as i wanna get another tourney in but that stupid 45 dollar dexcon fee is a killer which i don't think i can afford after having done regs

I would love to volunteer, Roy, but I'm not positive that I would be able to get off of work even with advance notice. I'll see how it works out over the next week or so. Though, I hope you will be full of volunteers by then and even if I could go, you don't need me!

Randall, to further Alex's post referral, you not only get a pass, you get a special pass as a demo team member. That pass also allows you unlimited food visits to Double Exposure's food suite. Alex, thanks much for your thoughtfuless.

Let me know if you also wish to help out the weekend prior (details within this topic), perhaps you may want to stay over at your relatives in Wantagh for two days before leaving for DeXcon14.
