What: Maryland States
When: Saturday June 16, 2012
Where: Bel Air Church of the Nazarene 2430 Conowingo Road (US1) Bel Air, MD 21015
Where...er: The church has been gracious enough to allow us the use of the sanctuary/multi-purpose room. When you pull into the parking lot, use the glass doors straight ahead of you. With your body. Not your car, please.
Who: Dayne Maust, Blake Maust, Shawn Capron
Why: Not only States, but Regionals the following week (get ready!), and for those who can't make it to the higher-level (farther away) tournaments you'll still have great tournament play.

Cost: $5.00 to enter all Open categories and get Lunch, $20.00 for Booster

Winner Promo: Emperor Augustus
Winners' Prizes: Redemption Cash

Schedule:
Deck checks begin at 8:00am.
Play starts at 9:00am.

Morning Session
Begins at 9:00am
T1-2p and T2 Multi

Lunch
12:30pm or 1:00pm (depends on attendance for morning rounds)
30 minutes allotted
Lunch is included with Registration.
Homemade pizza and hoagies
Sides & Dessert + Soda will be made available

Afternoon Rounds:
1:00pm or 1:30pm (depends on attendance for morning rounds)
T1 Multi and T2-2P

Tired Round:
5:00pm or 5:30pm (depends on attendance for morning rounds)

I don't know if I can this time. If you get no other ride by that week, let me know so I can try to work things out. My plans right now don't have me returning to the Hunt Valley/Cockeysville area, but we'll see what can be worked out.

I need an update for booster! I don't mind buying extra stock but I don't want to go crazy either, and I'd hate to deny someone an opportunity to play just because I don't have adequate supplies. I need to make my order by Thursday so that it's in by the 15th, so contact your friends, playgroup, whoever so I can get a headcount!

QUESTIONS FOR THE ATTENDEES, NEED RESPONSES:

1. Please see Brad's post about Booster draft. If you intend to play it, you must post here if you haven't already or we may not have the supplies for you.

2. We're working on trying to provide you food that will be inclusive with the $5 registration, but I would need an overall headcount to prepare for it. Please post here if you will attend and have not already posted.

3. I have been discussing this with the other hosts in my area, and I want to know if anyone objects to switching the categories to have the following pairings against each other
- Morning Session -
Type 1 MP vs Type 2 2P
- Afternoon Session -
Type 1 2P vs Type 2 MP
Booster Draft

We have been discussing it ever since Chris suggested it, and it would allow judges to still play 2P if they wanted or players switch categories if they wanted. It wouldn't affect players who stay in their category (T1 or T2). So basically, it would help judges still play categories they like while only stopping people from playing 2P of one type and MP of a different one.

Is there anyone opposed to this? I don't know of anyone who currently switches types for MP that doesn't prefer 2P anyway, and I don't know of anyone this would effect negatively. If you don't like this, you must post here (or PM me privately if you prefer) so that we can give the final schedule for everyone.

Planning to play booster draft and eat (but you already knew that). I'm not objected to the change, but I'd probably be willing to still judge during the morning session and only play during the afternoon and booster draft.

Noted about the judging, but we'll see what happens. Mainly it looks like this might come down to attendance for each event, as I'm guessing we'll be on the bubble for how many rounds to play per type.

Please continue to post your intentions to come, and play Booster.

you can count dwayne and I out for booster. (it's unlikely that dwayne will be attending at all)
also i absolutely LOVE the new schedule! being able to play type 1 2p and type 2 2p is awesome!
oh and don't count me for food since my eating habbits are so strange.

Like Chad said, I'm intending to be there, just have one more transportation issue to work out. I will not be playing booster, but I can help judge/deck-check for that if necessary. And I'm all in favor of the proposed schedule, as I'd love to do both the two player categories.

ok so we're definitely not coming now.....too much work to finish on our future house. Trying to get in there before our child is born. Have fun at the tourney everyone!!!!
