I'm sure you will quake in your boots to now know that my daughter, Rebeccah, and I will be attending Nationals. Of course you can avoid Sealed and Booster to not chance probably seeing either of us across the table!!! Take care, Allen

those are two of my 5 choices of competing. im not avoiding them, and i doubt i'd be quaking in my sneakers through the game, since you don't know how good i am you seem to think of me as a simple noobie but i assure you sir, im perfectly capable of holding my own in a tournament but booster does have it's disadvantages during games that i believe could be in your's or my favor but by no means am i avoiding both of those types. im gonna do what i can for booster and sealed, i ain't afraid of nobody, in sealed and booster i say in the words of WWE's John Cena:
"You want some? come get some!!"
cause im not holding back or backing down from nobody, not even from the likes of nats champions like the alstads, gabe isbell, or tim maly. cause all im gonna say left is "Just Bring It!"

I believe you might have missed Allen's sarcasm.  He was joking about quaking in your boots, but his daughter is the reigning champ of Sealed!

i knew he was sarcastic but be as it may, im letting some possible opponents know that come nationals, im not gonna be the one shaking in my boots and i will do what i can to not make it easy for anybody to win against me, i will fight on til the last card is played. and that includes the reigning sealed champion. i assure you, i won't be easy to beat, i've been playing on and off for 7 years i may not be as experienced as the rest of the forum but i still won't be easy to beat

Raven, i am glad I was defended by some that know me. I was kidding completely. I thought here to also refer to the posting about scoring and the elite players stuff. Rebeccah is the current nationales sealed deck winner but up until nats in MN she had never won even a local sealed deck tournament. She was undefeated at nats. I state this as an example of one of the great aspects of this game...anyone can be successful at any given tournament at any given time. While she was trully thrilled to win, she counts the overall nats experience,(we have been to 3 so far), as fantastic and even if she never places again she would still feel that way because of the people she encounters and their fellowship. I feel the same and hope and pray that you and all who attend will experience the fellowsip we have. We both look forward to our actions at nats being a blessing of fellowship to you and all. Take care and good luck playing.
PS: That good luck only extends to when not playing Rebeccah or me!!!(Sorry, my reversion to sarcasm slipped in again). allen

who else is going to nationals?
i seriously need to know so i'll expect who'll be there and it seems most of the redemption pros are unable to make it. if this keeps up then it might as well make it a peice of cake for me to win the national tournament  ;) ;) come on gimme a challenge, i beg for it. i don't care if i lose a game in the national tournament i welcome it cause im not focusing on winning and losing, im focusing on having a blast and  challenging my skills to see where im at,  bring on the pros!! LOL  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Is anyone from Minnesota going to nats that would like to carpool? If someone can provide a ride I'll put in a fair share of gas $$.

Just figured since I found out yesterday that I will be heading to Knoxville next week, I'd post here. There hasn't been a ton of other responses, and I'm curious who all that I haven't met in person yet I will get the chance to meet.

So far I know I'll meet Raven and Red for the first time. I remember both of the Collinses quite well, due to my narrow tie vs. Allen in T2 and the incredibly intense Sealed Deck match that helped Rebeccah secure first relegating me to Silver. And I'm curious about the status of the Beers bros because of the difficult family time right now (still praying for you guys).

So who else will I get to meet/reconnect with there?

Hey, that is better than me.  I started way back in 95 or 96, quit around the beginning of college (2003) and then picked it back up probably 6 or so years ago and my first Nats was last year.

not meaning to be rude but that's nothing compared to playing for 7 years and for the past 6 years of being dissapointed to find it's too far away to travel and funds aren't enough for even a plane ticket along with the tournament fee and other things that take up time, it does take it's toll on you and decreases your patience if you let it. this is how i've been feeling and it's been a tradition every single year that when nationals has been announced i get caught with everyone else who isn't able to go and just sits at home down in the dumps while everyone else is sitting on a plane travelling to the tournament venue with a very big grin on their face knowing their going to nationals. this has been the case for me for the past 7 years and have grown in some ways accepted to it and saddened to not be able to be there to have as much fun as everyone else at nationals when im sittin at home. and this year is an exception cause the tradition does not carry on this year cause im finnaly able to make it to nationals :) playing for 7 years and waiting for nationals to be close enough to make it does take it's toll on you if your me and knowing the info that nats is as close at it is now, it certainly will be worth the wait and the pain of not going will finnally be at ease and i will finnaly be able to say i have been to a national tournament. if i've been to at least one, just THAT one alone will be enough for me cause just one nats tournament for me will be worth a lifetime worth of locals that that's saying alot
