6 hearty souls (plus myself) braved the nearly half foot of snow that fell overnight Friday to get to Saturday morning's tournament.

It was a very competitive T1 2P tournament and the second round had all three games decided by one LS (5-4, 4-3, and 3-2).

In the end was the one and only BubbleBoy coming out of semi-retirement to claim 1st place!

We also played T1 MP, TEAMS, T2 MP and Booster Draft, and everyone placed in at least one category so a great tournament!

One of the craziest sequences I have seen in awhile took place in the second round game that ended 5-4.

The score was tied 3-3 with neither player having used SoG/NJ. James E had the turn and was holding NJ in hand. He decided to use Jephthah to discard the only two ECs in Jonathan H's territory. Wouldn't you know it though, his top card was Son of God!  :( He got the Lost Soul (which was the only one Jonathan had) to take a 4-3 lead, but would still need to rescue one more. Jonathan did not draw a LS on his turn so now it looked like he would have a chance to get two turns to rescue before James would get another opportunity. Jonathan attacked with Isaiah, topdecked Live Coal from his discard pile and drew two. The first card was of course Live Coal, and the second card was the Hopper LS...which Isaiah w/ Call negated! Jonathan won the battle using a CBN Razor to pull into a 4-4 tie. However, the negated Hopper gave James the chance to go for the win, and his Angel of the Lord took care of Jonathan's King Manasseh to pull out the 5-4 win. Jonathan's Son of God was the very bottom card...  :(

Great game by both players!
