What frustrates you?
« on: June 03, 2010, 04:46:07 PM »

As part of some research for a class in the fall, I need to identify frustrations that people experience in everyday life.  I am not interested in answers such as politics, the New York Yankees, or environmentalists.  On a day-to-day basis, what frustrates you, even a minimal amount?

I would appreciate it if you could be specific.

Thanks!
Kirk

1. I get frustrated when people change their speed while driving just because I am about to pass them.
2. I get frustrated when people tell me what I thinking, since they are usually wrong.
3. I get frustrated when people let their kids annoy other people in public places.
4. I get frustrated when the internet goes out, but I don't get a refund or credit from my internet provider.
5. I get frustrated when service people are rude and have no interest in helping me, or getting my order correct.

What frustrates me the most is that common sense isn't all that common.

- when the phone rings, but the person hangs up before I can get to it
- when my computer locks up
- when I know I planned to do or say something, but can't remember what it was
- when my kids try to all talk to me at the same time and ask for different things
- when my kids do something that they would have known better if they had thought about it
- when my kids do something that they did know better, and just did it anyway
- when people say "Revelations" as if that was a book of the Bible  (there is NO "s" on the end)
- when people say "I'm sorry" for things that aren't their fault, when they really mean "I feel badly for you"
- when people say "I'm sorry" for things they don't really plan on changing, when they really mean "I feel badly I got caught"
- when Hamachi looks like someone is there who you are supposed to play a game with, but they really aren't there

what frustrates me is
me not noticing myself changing and getting better in redemption
power outages
people who put down God's word and make fun of God and Jesus Christ(family guy, south park, ect).
people who believe in "The Big Bang Theory" and "evolution from monkey to human being" cause they don't know anything
matress covers that pop off even when their the correct size
tv stations going to channels i can't even watch cause i need to get comcast just to watch the stinkin channel
bosses that end up being the hardest people to battle against(M.Bison)
the economical crisis we're in currently
bullies who pick on lil kids
people who take me somewhere who before taking me, waste a little too much time to chill.

and the list just goes on, and on, and on

What frustrates me is when one person hears your joke and thinks its hallarious and then that person tells a whole bunch of other people and just take the credit for the jokes

I never knew your name was Xavier...  ;)

My personal pet peeves:

  • REALLY LOUD TV ADS.
  • Flashing website ads, or ads that make ANY type of sound.
  • Slow drivers. Doing the speed limit is fine, but going 10mph less for no good reason drives me nuts.
  • When my internet cuts out. We run our entire house off a wireless broadband card which is split through a router to all the computers in our house.
  • As STAMP said, the increasing rarity of Common Sense these days
  • Viruses that refuse to die
  • Brainfarts
  • Starting projects, especially papers
  • Dying in a game and realizing I never saved in the past two hours.

The Big Bang Theory is actually plausible and aligns with God's Word.

My thoughts exactly. Thats a debate for another thread, but The Bible does say God created everything out of nothing, which is the idea behind the big bang. God just made everything erupt from nothing.

I get frustrated when:

- my bullet misses its mark
- cops get the last doughnut for free
- When the person in front of me isn't paying attention and the once green light turns red for me and not them
- I have to look over my shoulder every minute because I'm paranoid like that
- Wily Coyote fails to catch the Road Runner
- Tweety outwits Sylvester
- I lock the keys in the car
- Forget that the parking brake is on

Among other things...

- when people say "I'm sorry" for things that aren't their fault, when they really mean "I feel badly for you"

I am just wondering, why do you feel this way about sorry?  Do you want them to say "I feel badly for you" or just not say anything at all?  Wondering cause of something bad that happened today to someone else and I want to comfort them, and I get a little annoyed when people say sorry too, but I was wondering what you would say instead of "I'm sorry."

And something that frustrates me is when people cheat at games, and when people lie about cheating in games when you JUST saw them cheat.

God actually designed everything to perfection, and then put it into place. He didn't throw a nuclear bomb and have everything be created from that. And the bible does NOT say he created everything out of nothing. Not sure where you got that from.

You're 11 (this isn't an attack on you *gasp* so don't take this one personally) you might consider going and reading up and looking up what some of the old earth people have to say. A professor who has studied and been around for awhile may just be smarter than you  ;) Also don't take all you're fathers belief (especially since he's a preacher of whom happen to be an extremely opinionated breed) and think that they MUST become you're own. Do the research look at both sides and then make you're decision on whose better. AND! DO NOT! go looking to something like Abeka history/science etc. go to unbiased research papers that give both sides. They're hard to find but they're worth taking a look at. I suggest a nearbye college library (I got lucky living 20 minutes out of Athens, Ga thus being 20 minutes away from the massive UGA library)
