Post-Message-Boards-HTTPS-Conversion Posting Issues

We've created a new thread to concentrate on pending posting issues after the website was converted into a secure HTTPS-based one.

Are some of y'all stil experiencing problems posting replies? Are you also having problems posting new topics?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? That's all I did when I had the issue. Can you still send PMs even if you can't post? If so please PM MichaelM2P your specific issue.

Thanks and Godbless.

Here are Mike's thoughts on the issue which still happens with some members, quoted and extracted from original, with some notes.

WARNING: More technical expertise is needed for some of Mike's troubleshooting suggestions. Posts from other tek savvy members are highly encouraged.

Thinktank please!

Upon finding the original issue, I had used the browser "Inspect Element" tool on the post button itself to see if the action was using the HTTP, or HTTPS version (see *screenshot*). If we can ask users which board they are having issues with, as well as to look in their dev tools (Usually Ctrl-Shift-i) in-browser to see if the action on the posting form still says http we can narrow down the issue. I did a search-replace on the database in the pretty-URL cache, which should have taken care of all of these, but there might be a few stragglers hidden in the database causing issues.

I'm 99.9% sure it's a caching issue, but they could also try flushing and renewing DNS might help. https://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/how-do-i-flush-my-windows-dns-cache/

Technically, a user can manually change the http to https in the form action in dev-tools and it will work, although not all forum users will want to mess around that deep.

For what it's worth, I cleared my cache, changed browsers, changed computers, and flushed the DNS. None of that worked. However, inspecting the "Post" button, as indicated, showed that it still just had "http" instead of "https." By editing that to add the "s", I was able to post a reply in the Redemption Market. :)

Yup, thanks for sharing your experience Ken. Yes, for more tek savvy guys they have done the same. Mike will repair it so their won't be any need to employ some IT tweaks.😉

Quick note from the "tech guy":

I've disabled the mod "Pretty URL's" from affecting the "Post Action" so this should correct the issue for all boards. I don't believe this will have any unexpected negatives, but I'll be monitoring it didn't nudge anything else out of place. Please feel free to DM me, or contact a mod that can email me directly if the post behavior is still affecting you.

Thank you all for your patience!
