Looking for LotR Cards

Since Isildur got me thinking about it, does anyone have LotR TCG cards that they are willing to sell or trade away. I have none, so I would like to get a large enough number to make about 10 decks. They can be C/UC. PM or post an offers.

I have all 6 Starter Decks from the first block, 1 complete set of the entire first block (this means Fellowship, Moria, and Elf Lords), tons of extras from the first block (mainly commons and uncommons), and a handful of cards ( including some rares) from the other sets.  I liked playing in "Block" form, where all players are using cards from the same movie/book, and in our case we focused on the first film.  This was quite a financial investment on my part.  I enjoy the game a lot, but I don't have anyone to regularly play with.  Please PM with an offer if you're interested.

Fellowship Block was by far the best block though I did enjoy Towers Block alot. After those two blocks the game slowly lost the focus and magic it originally had till it finally died in 2007(?) with a ridiculous amount of op'd and broken cards in the game.

I found my box of cards, and while I haven't had a chance to sort/count/anything them yet, I'd say it's at least a couple hundred cards from various sets.

I'll send you a PM once I get at least a count of the cards.

Sorting them won't matter to me, since I know nothing about the cards. If you were just looking to remove the valuable cards, that's fine too. I'm looking for a lot of cards cheap, basically. eBay has Buy It Now of $38 for 3500 C/UC cards, but I would rather buy from someone here if anyone has enough to spare.

I have a ton of LOTR cards from pretty much every set. I have approximately 30,000 of them. What are you thinking about trading for LOTR cards?

Check my trading thread for specifics. Just make an offer I can't refuse.   ;D

If you are interested in selling, I can only pay through PayPal.

Honestly, I would either do a big trade for a bunch of different cards (Di/TeP/Promo/UR) from your trade thread to help beef up the cards available to our playgroup or I would just prefer to do a sale through paypal. The question is, do you want decks that are already put together or do you want a bunch of cards for you to put something together on your own. The reason I ask is one of the guys in our group used to playtest for Decipher during the LotR era. He has several top decks (and by top I mean national tournament winning type decks). You let me know what you decide and we will go from there. If you want to grab the database list mentioned above in this thread and then give me an idea of what you want we could go that route as well, but it will obviously be more time consuming for all involved.

I will not be picking and choosing cards, since I do not know anything about them. Complete decks would be nice, but the unsorted mass is fine, too. The only problem will be that "tournament decks" will likely demand a higher price, which I cannot offer. I am not looking at spending any more than $50. Also, I will not be trading away a large portion of my Redemption collection for a LotR collection, unless the trade is significantly in my favor. I am building decks for a small playgroup that is looking for variety, not to compete in tournaments.

Somehow I completely missed your post. Sorry about that. PM sent.

After those two blocks the game slowly lost the focus and magic it originally had till it finally died in 2007(?) with a ridiculous amount of op'd and broken cards in the game.

Wait, are we talking about LotR or Redemption?   :o

I am actually willing to do that type of trade. The only stipulation is that I would want you to cover the shipping cost since I will be sending you a large amount of cards. Would you be cool with that? Let me see what "large amount" actually equates to and I will get back with you on the exact specifics of what shipping will cost. Could you PM me your address so I can be as precise as possible in my calculations please?

I am willing to pay for shipping, as long as the total cost falls into my target range. PM sent.

browarod, did you need me to pay you for shipping in advance, include that in the total value, or reimburse you later?

Reimbursement later and/or including in total value would be just fine. They should be out this week.

If anyone else has LotR cards, I am still interested in picking up some. I recently won an auction that had 3400 C/UC cards for $25, so that is the rate I would like to stay around. Rare cards I will consider all offers for. Please post or PM what you would like. I will trade Redemption cards (within reason) or pay through PayPal.

Is there anyone who can quickly explain why certain sets of LotR cards are exceptionally high and others exceptionally low? For instance, I can get a booster box of Mines of Moria for $10, but a booster box of Treachery & Deceit costs $600. Which sets are worth/not worth the money?

High cost is due to low print runs when the game was dieing.

The game is separated into blocks aka based on what movies came out or rough set stuff. There is the Fellowship block (first 3 sets) Tower Block (Sets 4-6) and King Block (sets 7-10) and of all of these put together make up the Movie block (sets 1-10). Imo stick with the first 10 sets or narrow it down to just the first 3 as these were the best designed sets and nothing is very broken in them. Think of it as early Redemption Blue packs through Kings. Sets 11-13 make up the Shadow block this block isnt broken but its not really worth your time unless if you have already collected most of the early sets. Anything past set 13 is imo VERY broken and should not be played with besides the fact they will cost you a fortune to buy.

If you have any more questions just ask away.

Also consider Middle Earth CCG which is by far the best CCG ever made! Though it is rather complicated :p

Last call for anyone who wants to make money off their extra LotR cards. I will be bidding on a variety of eBay auctions soon, unless I hear from anyone here first.

Browarod, I have sorted through the cards you sent. Please send me an updated list of your wants, and I will put together an offer for you.

I have a commons and uncommons from the first thirteen sets ( minus  Reflections, which only come in r and r+). As far as quantity that is hard to say, I have 2 large card boxes+ a few smaller boxes full of the c's and uc's of the first block.  I have about 300+ c's and uc's from sets 4, 7, 10, 11, and 12. The remaining sets I only have a handlful. I also have Reflections cards if you are interested, though I am only interested in trading my excess rares, which, as far as pricing goes, are essentially common and uncommon.

I can get a more accurate count soon if you are interested in the whole lot. I am willing to trade for redemption cards or for money. Thanks.  :)

I am indeed interested. FYI, I purchased a lot of 3400 C/UC from sets 7,10,12,13 for $25 (shipping included). I barely lost an auction for 2500 C/UC/R that ended up going for $26 (shipping included). I just wanted to make sure you had an idea of the price range I was looking for.

I will consider all Redemption card trade offers, including at higher than the cash rates above.

Okay, I will be able to get a better estimate for you by the weekend when I have time to sit down and sort my cards.
