I actually like cooking. My grandparents are coming over for dinner next week and I'm going to make Roast Duck with Bing Cherry Sauce.

Now that you're no longer in the doghouse... I have to ask, what happened to put you in there in the first place?  :P

If you ever need gift ideas, consider some of the following creative ideas.  Very few of them involve much money, but they do require time, thought, and effort.

- Write a poem of sorts.  Simple schemes you could follow include: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH, an acrostic that is free verse (I made one this summer for my girlfriend with the acrostic "APART YET TOGETHER")
- Create a flower headband.  I made one this summer and it looks extremely impressive.  It isn't very difficult to make either. http://stilldottie.blogspot.com/2008/10/feather-flower-headband-tutorial.html
- Make a magnetic poetry set from scratch.  I created a list of about 500 words this summer and printed them using a labelmaker and pasted them on magnetic sheets and cut them out.  You can include words that she likes and your names.  I gave my girlfriend a "base" expansion with most of the words while saving a few "expansions" to give her throughout the semester that contain themed words and phrases I want to surprise her with later.
- Bake banana bread, zucchini bread, cookies, etc and write a heartfelt card

If you ever need future ideas, just let me know.  I come up with new ones all the time and use them.  I have alot of really creative date ideas I could pass along as well.
