Getting back in the game

Hey everybody.

I didn't know where else to post this on the forum. But I used to play when I was younger and am interested into getting back into the game as it was always a really fun time. I used to run Zerubabels temple and that was a hoot and a half. Any place to start for deck ideas or rule changes/ cards banned if there have been any. The last thing I remember before I stopped earlier was The Disciples pack just coming out. I also believe that I saw something about mayhem and the double lost soul card having a change or something but I'm not sure what that is about so if somebody could update me lol. Anyways glad to be back!

the two liner was banned, and mayhem can only shuffle 6 random cards in opponents hand  then they get to draw 6
If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love I am nothing.

Welcome back! As thecoolguy pointed out, the 2-/3-liner Lost Soul was in fact banned, along with Samuel from the Rock of Ages set expansion that came out the year after Disciples was released and Mourn and Weep from the Prophecies of Christ set released over the last few years. The most recent set is Lineage of Christ (LoC), which focused on characters throughout the line of Christ which were all printed as two-sided cards, similar to Philosophy from way back. LoC actually introduced a reprint of Zerubbabel's Temple as well which shifted to more of a focus on "Postexilic" Heroes. It's a relatively new theme, but it might be a fun deck idea to check out for a little bit of nostalgia. I also happen to have a YouTube channel I started a few months ago that might help you get some ideas for decks and get some exposure to newer cards and strategies if you're interested. Here's a link to the Postexilic deck I just built and played with recently.
