Hey,

Have any of the people that sell singles updated their price lists for apostles and partriarchs rares and ultra rares since TexP came out?  You definitely got your money's worth based on the pre-TexP values of the ultra rares but post-TexP values for the ultra rares should be a far cry from the pre-TexP values.

10 cards short of three complete sets out of 196 cards (only 16 more than three complete sets) is a nice close to even distribution.  Much, much better than priests :)  What's the greatest quantity you got of any TexP card?  Did you get 5 of any of them?

Not necessarily. Although the laws of supply and demand will still be at work, although the supply has become greater, the demand has remained the same, and people will always need stuff.

Yes, my prices have been adjusted due to new influx of Apostles and Patriarchs for the low end rares/ultras. The high end are around same price (a couple of dollars less). We had 10 Kirs, 8 Salomes, 6 Centurion at Capernaums, 7 or 8 Ahazs, etc.

Also consider in the distribution I traded for about 40-50 various TeP before opening, which could impact the statistics...

As a national champion, I support ReyZen deck pouches.

Hey,

Not necessarily. Although the laws of supply and demand will still be at work, although the supply has become greater, the demand has remained the same, and people will always need stuff.

If the demand remains constant and the supply increases the price will fall, always.  How much it falls depends on the elasticity of demand.  Of course, Redemption is an adequately small market that general economic rules won't perfectly apply.

Before TexP you could get 1 new apostles rare or ultra rare for $3.  After TexP you can get 4 new apostles rares or ultra rares for $5.  So the price per card went from $3 to $1.25, a decrease of over 50%.  Also, the other cards in TexP (namely the two TexP cards and the patriarchs rares) are move valuable than the other cards in an apostles pack so the drop in value of an apostles rare or ultra rare is even more than the $3 to $1.25 ratio suggests.

So the way I look at it, the value of an apostles rare or ultra rare to the average player dropped by over half when TexP came out.

That is assuming demand remains constant, which it won't. The game is growing in size, new players are joining. The newer sets are encouraging players to use older cards. Both of these things increase demand.

I think most/all of us can agree prices will drop, but not by half.

I think another thing to consider is that as people obtain more of the Apostles URs you find in many decks, (Writ, GoyS, WoP, Shroud) they are building more decks, not necessarily trading or selling those cards thus the supply isn't increasing quite as much.

Hey,

I'm still waiting for SirNobody's Half-Price Sale thread....

I imagine that thread will show up about a week after SirNobody's Full-Price thread (can't have half of something that doesn't exist now can you?)

I know for a fact that is happening here.  I know of at least 5 players who have added a deck or more to their arsenal since the TexP release.  If you have another GoYS, Destruction, Wall, Unholy Writ, NT Soul, and a new theme that looks fun to try, it is difficult to pass up building another deck.  At our last tournament, 2 players checked in 2 decks. These two players had never checked in more than one deck before.
