A $5 donation...

This might seem like an awkward request, but I was hoping that someone on this message board might be able to help me with something.

Back in 2004, when I stopped working for Cactus Game Design to go to medical school in the Caribbean, I had expressed the hope that God would eventually be able to use me for medical mission trips.  Up to that point I had been a full-time Cactus employee and very active in the “Redemption Community.”

At that time one of our active Redemption players mailed me a $5 bill, as a contribution toward my new career decision, with the expectation that he was donating toward a career that would eventually be involved in a ministry for God.  It was a generous and thoughtful gesture.  Since I was not yet involved in ministry, I was not comfortable using that money yet, and set it off to the side to be used when it would be appropriate.  About one year later, I felt God call me in a different direction and I left medical school (I am now a CPA).  For the longest time, I had intended to contact that young man with both thanks and regrets that I was unable to put his donation to work for God as he had intended, and offer to return it or pass it on to another ministry.  However, it remained on my procrastination/to-do list for quite some time and was eventually forgotten.  In truth, at this point I don’t even remember what happened to that money or his letter.

Some time ago, my boys’ homeschool curriculum had a section which encouraged people to strive to be reconciled with anyone that they had wronged in the past, regardless of how long ago.  Furthermore, it encouraged prayer that God would convict of areas in need of reconciliation.  When I pray for this conviction, I find God constantly reminding me of that $5 donation that I neglected.

After 7 years, I no longer remember that young man’s name, or have any contact information, but would like to contact him to apologize for my neglect in this matter, and do my best to make restitution.  I was hoping that someone on this message board might be familiar with this situation and be able to help me find this person, despite the vague and sketchy details that I can supply.  If so, please message me or send an email to Kordel@LentineFamily.com.  Thank you for your help.
