No, you shouldn't be able to kill forts that easily outside of battle.

I'm already shocked enough that they gave purple two fort killers in this set.

But one needs to be used by a general Disciple, which means you'll need initiative. And the other needs to be used by one of two Disciples both with high numbers. And both are negatable. So I wouldn't be too worried.

Honestly, a splash Simeon or John with HT and Baptism of Jesus is scarier...

We already have a territory class enhancement in Land Dispute that destroys a fortress if no site is available.  I'm wondering if more people will start using sites just to protect their fortresses?

No. More people will use sites because the new Sites basically are Fortresses. And Caesarea Phillipi makes Land Disupte worthless, since you can't take a Site, but your opponent still has one so you can't discard a Fortress.

John just has to be in play for that one I believe.

Not sure of the scripture or exactly the wording, but some1 can come up with this no doubt.

Basically:  An artifact that places a fortess on the bottom of opponents deck.  Maybe used just once or twice.  I think that would open up things a bit more.

Daniel

I agree, but this art needs to be able to hit set asides too.

On a side note what is the best way to limit  artifacts to one use, but at the same time allowing the artifact to be hit by Don. I really find it annoying that you cannot hit a DD or the Jar. What happenend to everything has a counter? Same thing with fortresses in set aside area, not enough counters. I want to say this as respectfully as I can, but I think we see the side affects of TGT already. Sure we have seen the direct side affects, but now we have the indirect ones to deal with too. We are talking Gates of Hell, Philistine Outpost, DD (not the ability but the concept of not being able to Don) Land Dispute, and all the fort discarders now... Just saying it is an interesting cycle... Because now many of the counters have counters and thus (theoretically, not neccessarily) we are back to square one. This puts the play testers in a lose lose situation and prevents them from making other cards that would help the game, imo. Just saying, the main point of this post was to discover the logic behind the set aside forts and the CBN arts. Thanks.

that's why I was thinking maybe allow it for 2 uses.  That way your opponent gets a chance to DoN it.

"May be used once" still allows for DoN. Only "Discard to..." when the "to" can happen during prep phase stops DoN.

I was under the impression that Captured Ark's second use was CBI due the the use limit. Is this not true for single-use cards as well?

AFAIK, this is true of "May be used twice" and any possible "May be used once" Artifacts. But "May be used once" will likely never be used, as any future single-use Arts will probably be worded with the "Discard this Artifact to..."

IIRC, the Discard check on limited-use Artifacts happens at the end of the phase...

It's been ruled for ages that the second use of Holy Grail can't be interrupted. So I'm not sure what you're remembering.

So does this mean that if I use Holy Grail a second time, that my opponent can play DoN after I have announced I am using the second use?

you are not allowed to play DoN on HG second use or any other Arts second use or first use if it is only one because it is already considered in the discard pile and cannot be targeted by DoN.

Well, the card already says that. Other people just wanted a way not to get the fortress down so long.

How about shuffle into deck, instead of place on bottom?  That way you'll get it back a lot faster probably.  And on RTS, you might just draw it your next draw haha.

Think about it, though.  How does an artifact get rid of a fortress (unless that artifact is a falling meteor)

Not sure about the scripture, but there are a few scriptures that show the destruction of buildings, so it wouldn't be too hard to connect.  I'm not saying there's an actual artifact that was used to throw at the building and knock it over haha.  In this case though, it's just shuffle, so it doesn't even have to be destroyed.

Could a siege weapon be considered an artifact?
