That's a good point, but one could argue that since Isaiah has the Cloud symbol, using the Cloud artist (Tissot) for him would be appropriate  8)

That said, IIRC like half the art on the OT kings are actually David, so this is hardly the first case of this. Always seemed weird that Galba had cherubs behind him anyway.

Wow! This Isaiah fits awesome into musicians decks and also pairs really well with CoW Moses giving ** enhancements CBN while cloud symbol protects him from Moses' SA! Awesome! Really!

I for myself like the old Isaiah (FooF) image most - it's really cool. I also like that style of pics and images when used on cards - would love to see more of these "oldschool" stuff.  ;D   And aren't there also very talented artists around in the board showing their illustration and image skills? Is there no chance their pictures, drafts etc. can be used too? Maybe even for an entire set or at least a theme of it?

WOAH, he is awesome! Not a huge fan of that art, (he looks like a roman emperor lol) but I love his ability and the cloud identifier on him now!

That actually is the same exact art as Emperor Galba

I believe this image of Isaiah is royalty-free and it's from Wikimedia Commons (and I'm 99% sure it's not already on a Redemption card)

Another option, by Tissot
So while Tissot has LOTS of great pieces available, we're trying to shy away from using Tissot illustrations this year and probably next. He has a bunch of pieces we plan to use the following year so his style will very much set the tone for the look of a future set.

That first one Jesse posted, the lithograph one, isn’t Tissot but the second is. The first one looks like he’s looking up at the stars and is reaching for them. Pretty appropriate, wouldn’t you say?  ;)

Always seemed weird that Galba had cherubs behind him anyway.

Or why Asaph is portrayed as Paul, Silas, or the Roman Jailer...

Today there are all kinds of amazing options for finding public domain, high resolution art on the internet, yet we are still challenged to find what we need for dozens of cards every year. I cannot imagine what it was like before high resolution online art was available. My guess is that for cards like Galba, Asaph all those kings who depict David and many other cards, it was the best option they could find at the time. There are still cards on occasion that have to "settle" on a piece of art.

I totally understand. I just thought it was funny when I realized, while looking at Asaph’s card art a couple of months ago, that it was the scene from the Philippi jail, and the same art used on The Roman Jailer. I also found it funny how the card art used on the Saul’s Disobedience card, the same one used for King Solomon on his TxP card, is not accurate as the background shows the temple, and the temple wasn’t built when King Saul was around.

Of course. I wasn't trying to be accusatory, just pointing out that there are a lot of cases and characters where art (or at least, good available art) may not exist. I have no complaints about overlap, especially in a case like this where it's being used for the actual intended subject.

On a different note, I wonder if there's any reason that this particular thread was chosen....

Love the art.  When it says to reserve something, would it go to your reserve or the owner of the card being reserved reserve?

Similar to deck and discard pile, cards you own will always go to your reserve.

Lovin it.  Great way to banish SoG from discard pile without needing Confusion, and to stop the recursion of heroes, as well as pesky, recurable enhancements.

Assuming the band is referring to T2 play, or should we expect a different kind of Jackals card?

Seems likely this would be a T2 banding ability.

How about another nice addition to an Assyrian defense with an Isaiah reference. That fits in this thread...right?

Interesting mix of abilities that are good early, middle, and late game. Seems fairly solid to me, despite the apparent anti-synergy.

I really like the King Shalmaneser 3rd card.

It has a unique set of special abilities.

Better not have a multi brigade enhancement in your discard pile or else..... a nasty 9/9 decrease will happen. :)

Should this be "capture an opposing human"? Don't know why this would capture non-humans...

We've moved away from adding "human" for thematic reasons when in inherently adds power to the non-human themes. There was a period where it was used on a number of cards which only led to an increase in ability types that angels, demons, animals and symbolic characters are inherently protected from. We tend to usually just use the human qualifier when it takes power away from the non-human themes.
