Dinah
2/2
Blue Hero

Convert Shechem to a Blue brigade hero and Band him into battle. If Simeon or Levi are in battle, set Dina aside for the remainder of the battle, she is protected from effects of evil cards.

Refrence
Gen 34:26  And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.

Shechem
3/6
Brown Evil Character

May set one female hero, in battle, aside for remainder of this battle, upon return she cannot band to male heros for the remainder of the game. Cannot be negated if used against a female Hero with a Genesis Reference. If Levi or Simeon are in play, Discard Shechem after this battle.

Reference
Gen 34:26  And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.

These may need some work but I think they could be fun.

Sechem's cool, especially combined with Haman, but Dinah is really UP.

I dont think anyone would play these. the valuable spaces in the gen offense can't sacrifice valuable card spaces for these guys. dont think its worth it. keep trying tho. interesting idea.

First of All, Dinah is not suppose to be 2/2, because that suppose to be Joseph's spot, Because Zebulum is 3/3, then Dinah should be 4/4, and my effect for her is

When Dinah loss a battle, she becomes a lost soul and place in opponent's land of bondage, when Simeon and/or Levi rescues her, return Dinah back into owner's territories to discard a brown evil character in play.

And Shechem should be

Brown

4/4

Discard Shechem when holder choose to Capture a female Hero from territory and place in your land of bondage and Simeon and Levi successfully rescue a lost soul from your territory. Cannot be negated if Dinah is in your land of bondage.

Because Shechem just took Dinah and technically "raped" her, so capture would be good, and because Simeon and Levi went into the place asked for Dinah, and then later on killed Shechem.

This is what I thought. THanks.

I am not sure I understand your argument about the 2/2-4/4 thing but okay. I know my version of Dinah isn't great but I thought she should have a convert of some sort (maybe even an ability to pull a convert out once per game or something) because, after Shechem raped her, he did the righteous thing by agreeing to any request made so he could marry her. I mean how many of us would allow ourselves to be circumcised at an adult age? He was no longer acting evil, he was actually making a covenant with the house of Jacob that Simeon and Levi both initiated and broke.

Dinah was never a prisoner of Shechem because the marriage could not take place until after the men were healed from the circumcision. All the men were dead before the marriage took place. So I don't think a capture is the proper ability for Shechem. Updated the set aside ability on Dinah.

I think we can make these cards better without making them more complicated.

Sechem
"Capture a female human. If Simeon or Levi are in play, negate and discard Sechem after battle."

Dinah
"If Simeon or Levi are in play when Dinah is being removed from battle, you may discard a blocking Evil Character and shuffle this Hero into owner's deck instead."

Again, there was no capture involved it was a forced encounter, she was then sent back to her family where Shechem stated that he loved her. The reason I feel it should be a set aside instead of a capture is that we don't read of Dinah anymore in scripture. If everyone is insistant on making it a capture card (since there are no capture cards in the game) let's make it a capture card that releases her in three turns since they attacked and killed the men of the city on the third day after the circumcision.

I don't mean to sound angry, I just don't understand the fascination with capture cards. Every game I play, people are not happy when they draw lost souls (no ls nothing to rescue). WHy do we want to make heros lost souls and give more rescue attempts? Especially when we are presented with another way to get rid of heros.

There was a big reason when we made Jacob's sons.

Jacob had 12 sons, and one daughter. So

Reuben- 12 the oldest
Simeon- 11
Levi- 10
Judah- 9
Dan- 8
Naphtali- should be 7
Gad- should be 6
Asher- 5
Issachar- should be 4
Zebulum- 3
Joseph- 2
Benjamin- 1

If we are going to make Dinah a number, we could make it 1/13 or 3/13 or 3/3
because she was the the only girl out of 13 child (1/13). 11th child of Jacob (3/13), She was the third youngest child (3/3).

Maybe a new effect for her, would be

Dinah
3/3
Convert one human male evil character from opponent's territory to a blue brigade hero. This hero cannot convert another Evil Character unless the previous converted hero is discard it. (While Dinah is in play, discard the converted hero when Simeon and Levi made a successful rescue, Cannot be negated.)

Shechem

Set aside a O.T. female human Hero for remainder of the game, this hero is to be return back into territory 3 turns after Simeon and/or Levi made a successful rescue. Discard Shechem when Simeon and Levi successfully rescue a lost soul.

Something like that which will be more make sense.

I like how you handled Dinah. I don't think the brothers strength should determine hers though because of the fact that she is a girl. But 3/3 works for me.

I like my modified Shechem better though. The second part of His S/A on your suggestion doesn't make sense to me. Dinah never left her father's tent. A scriptural wedding could only take place after the healing of the circumcision. All the men (including Shechem) were dead long before that could happen. Therefore, Dinah would still be at her father's house awaiting her groom. That was Simeon and Levi's plan from the begining (if he is going to treat our sister that way, there is no way he will ever have her again!). Not jabbing you though, like I said, I like your Dinah.

Then this case, if any of the card maker people see this, then it should work. Maybe we can change the last part of Shechem, instead of discard it after battle just leave it be, because the discard Shemech part, we can make it an enhancement which can done something else better. So just leave it as set a female HUMAN hero aside. Because Angel doesn't count. Thanks.

shuffle this hero into owner's deck instead? how would this be useful?

Instead of being removed from battle? I'd say that's very useful. I think it's probably even OP, because I didn't say quite what I meant to.

Quote
When Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and violated her.

Emphasis mine. A forced encounter like that implies a capture, he captured her to have his way with her no?  I am just saying capture is not a bad ability for her to have.

Quote
she was then sent back to her family

Quote
They put Hamor and his son Shechem to the sword and took Dinah from Shechem's house and left.

actually thats not true, she was not returned to her family until after her Brothers killed the town, they took her back with them.  Not to be overly critical but when it comes to making cards based on scripture it is good to have the whole story.

I must concede that point, I did not read the whole story again as I should have. I still think a capture would not be the best ability here, because it wasn't really a capture, it was consentual after the initial encounter. Maybe we could say that

Shechem

capture a Female Hero for 1 turn, If hero isn't rescued on opponents next turn, set her aside for the next 3 turns then return her to owners territory.

It may be lengthy, but it is accurate ;D

It is pretty lengthy, but is there another way to make it easier to understand it? If not, then let's make it this way, it is the same, but make it easier to understand

Capture a Female Hero from opponent's territory for 1 turn, if no opponent rescue the captured hero by the end of holder's next turn, set aside that captured hero for three turns and then return back into owner's territory. Cannot be negated unless a Genesis Hero is in play.

How about that, it is pretty easy i think, and it will make it easier to battle. because just capture can be too powerful. Thank you.

I don't mind the capture ability now. (as our dear Kronkus pointed out) Dinah was in the city when the siege took place. However at that point, she wasn't "captured" as she was in the house with her husband. The capture is listed as a "For one turn" because she was only forced into the encounter that one night, then released to her family, then taken back as a bride not as a captive. So in a sense, it is a capture, but not really.

Hope that helped.
