Here is my idea for a Luke hero. I will explain my reasoning later.

8/7 blue/gold hero
Heal a hero in play. If a hero would be discarded return hero to
territory instead. No heroes can be poisoned. May band with Paul.
Identifiers: Physician

Reasoning: Since he was a physician, he needed to incorporate protection without being broken. Notice, that his ability, while powerful, can be negated. His band with Paul can be easily stopped. Plus he can be converted and captured. Not to mention the fact that if he banded with Paul, (Missionary travels with Paul we find in acts.) no way do they get initative. So their combined power is limited. what do you guys think?

I like him except for the fact that he's rainbow. Even if you negate his special ability, he's still an 8/7 rainbow (who could have initiative fairly easily), so I don't think a negateable ability balanced the ability to use every brigade all the time. Paul, at least, you have to manage to convert before he can use any enhancement, and he resets when he leaves play/set aside.

I agree with browarod. Luke being a Rainbow hero for no cost is a little overpowered. A good replacement color would be Gold/Yellow to go with the Luke theme.

Why is he blue?  I don't see any reason for him to be blue.

no reason. just gives us more options. colors don't have to be limited to themes. we've seen themes and colors get crossed recently. also blue has a lot of cool old battle winners that i don't see people using too often.  :)
