Okay, the subject is the question, and example would be a Cloud or Genesis type deck...how could I convert those into using reserve without doing much damage to the idea behind the decks?  Obviously, The Deceiver is one thought.

Well, in a cloud deck, you will probably have a decent amount of white and green, so Justin martyr is a good option to throw in, and there are several key cloud characters who are also musicians, so the tabernacle will be a good add after nats. Also, since all the cloud enhancements are NT, you can use fifth seal/justice seekers to grab one from the reserve. As for Genesis, I really don't know. They have basically no reserve support, except that they work well with silver, so maybe angel from the altar?  :dunno:

Yeah I am in a conundrum...I enjoy these decks and I am wondering if I should worry about trying to include a reserve with these...

I personally don't think that all decks need a reserve. There are certainly some that can use it, and some where it is better for certain cards to be in the reserve than not, but with decks like Genesis, i think they are fine without it. Genesis is already pretty powerful with zeb, Joseph, Ben, and the new Abraham mini theme, and I think they have a shot of doing well this year. Same with Egyptians. They got an amazing boost in cloud, and I think they have a shot at being in a top deck. Plus with the new outsiders and the new merchants of the earth to recur eg treasures and abandonment, they are pretty strong.

I am thinking, using the offense, but change the defense to allow me to access the reserve if needed...thoughts?

I don't see any reason for a deck not to have The Deceiver and a bunch of useful humans in Reserve if nothing else.

I'd say orange maybe. Lots of reserve access, strong characters, strong enhancements, and strong support cards like motb  and goh.

Also Covenant of Prayer and Gain LS pretty much fit into any deck.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

yeah, but I am thinking this is only a minor fix because once used the deceiver is then useless...unless I somehow (after looking at the seals/bowls and other evil enhancements in ROJ) use the Dual Enhancements to access the Reserve.  I noticed a lot of the dual enhancements work with several different evil brigades which would help in the reserve access.  I am just thinking of how to avoid creating a deck that is so similar to all the other RoJ styled decks.  A lot of them seem to be using the same cards in a majority of the decks I am finding.  I am trying to develop some that are different but still viable and reserve friendly.  hhhmm...back to the drawing board...

Ah, yes those would help get around the reserve access door...

You can use the deceiver, cov of prayer, and manipulate the gain lost soul with the imitate lost soul.  This will allow you to use a good amount of your reserve.

Is that manipulation a viable play?

I don't even have an Imitate, but between Gain, Wanderer and my opponent's Gain, old Falling Away and Death of Unrighteous, I tend to see a significant portion of my reserve.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

How does FA allow reserve access?

Gain activates every time it enters a territory, including when it returns to territory after being felled by Falling Away.

Thanks!  Was ranking my brain yesterday over this...i suppose if it isn't a revelation type deck, until more reserve cards are released in later expansions, then I won't worry to much about it for now.

This was our thinking when we created it, at least as it applies to this season. A few years from now it will be much easier to include a Reserve in any theme at which point the interaction with the Reserve will probably expand. Still we didn't want to add a cool new things (the Reserve) for only decks that use the newest cards. That's why we made some generic ways to access the Reserve (The Deceiver, "Gain" Lost Soul and Covenant of Prayer).
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?
