Decks for non-readers?

I introduced the game to two brothers recently, and they are very excited about it.  However, the younger one is not yet able to read at the level Redemption requires (he's 7, I think).  Any ideas for some simpler-than-G/H-decks I could make while the younger one is still learning the game, but could still compete with the starter-level decks his brother is using?  He understand the game, just can't read the cards.

Ideas:
- simple Pharisee/Sadducee banding
- Philistine banding + numbers (too powerful vs starters?  Maybe add AoC to the older one's deck?)

I'd recommend a Grey or Grey/PG capture defense where all of the enhancements are captures.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Ah, thanks for the ideas.  An all-capture defense sounds like the easiest to explain, and should work against either decks quite well.

Prof, I like the idea in that thread, but in this particular case, I'd like him to still be able to play his 6th grade brother, who I'm afraid would not be as interested in the simpler game.  I will, however, keep that teaching strategy in mind for others I may teach.

hmm what cant he understand?

I think he can understand the game quite well, but he has trouble reading what the cards say, as he simply doesn't recognize enough words in print.  He understands the cards once I read them off to him, but I was hoping to find a way he can play without the constant reciting of SA's.

You could print out stickers with big letters on it.
