Cookie Cutter Idea
« on: August 17, 2011, 02:15:24 PM »

I was thinking of starting a thread for some of the new players that contains many different Cookie Cutter Decks to give them ideas and what cards they need. Then I might start getting a little more advanced and maybe start some top tier decks give other players ideas. Then they could request deck that they would want to see. Who thinks that this would be a good idea. If you don't please state your reason or if you think I'm wasting my time.

Very basic decks that are solid. One theme on offense one theme on defense.

Alright,  Yeah that sounds like a good idea.  But I don't think there are any new players on the boards.

There are some relatively new players on the board, and more are joining every day.

I think this sounds like a great idea! It would be helpful for new players to see the core cards for any "cookie cutter" offense/defense. I wouldn't build a whole deck out, just the core cards that make it "cookie cutter".

For example Garden Girls:

The Garden Tomb
Mary Mother of James
Salome
Mary Magdalene
Joanna
Suzanna
Consider the Lilies
He is Risen
Magnificant

Or for a Philistine Defense:

Philistine Outpost
Philistine Garrison
Goliath (promo)
The Twelve-Fingered Giant
Philistine Armorbearer

Those are cards that are common among most, if not all "cookie cutter" decks of their respective type. I wouldn't include cards like Lydia in the TGT deck because although some do use her, not all do.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

I am not new to the boards, and have been learning a lot by reading posts and collecting cards, but unfortunately I live in an area where there are no other (apparent) players, so I have little playing experience.....so I would find this thread very helpful, either to learn or to reinforce what I believe are some good deck ideas.  Also, I have a 7-y/o son who I would like to help with deck concepts and how to play a couple of decks so he can be competent in the event we will find others to play with.

Sounds good then. I will still accept deck ideas people would like to see but I will do what Gabe suggested and do Offense or Defense. If someone really wants to see a deck then I could do that to like Pre-block ignore or a cool way to mix colors. I'll hopefully get a couple offenses/defenses up tonight.

Gabe's method is the best. Knowing which cards absolutely every deck of that type has will help players a lot, and will get them asking questions about why people don't usually use a card they think is just superb.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
