I'm toying with making a deck with a Magicians defense just for fun. Which offenses work well with Magicians?

Well, I don't really think Magicians really support one specific good brigade like Egyptians support Genesis for example. I'd recommend trying some things out from the new set.

Well Laban works great with genesis. Honestly, usually the question is what defense couples good with this offense and usually not the other way around. Job could be fun though.

I like asking questions backwards.  ;D

Job sounds intriguing. I've heard about Job offenses, but never actually figured out the concept. Anyone care to enlighten me?

You use Dust and Ashes (fortress from Disciples) which basically insteads all abilities harming Job. Here's an example of a Job offense.

Forts: 1
Dust and Ashes

Silver Heroes: 3
   Angel of Warning
  Angel at Shur
the angel that bands to blue

Blue Heroes: 2
   Job
   Zeubulun (maybe)

Silver Hero Enhancements: 1
   Striking Herod

Blue Hero Enhancements: 4
   Abe's grown man kids
   Job's Faith
   Jubilee
   Sign of the Rainbow

Regarding Job offenses, you need a defense that can last a while. I could see it working with a sizable magician defense.

You could potentially pair it with white, purely for Susanna's ability to set up the bottom of your deck. As mentioned, genesis could work as well.

Just as long as you don't shuffle your deck with the offense, you should be fine.

Depends on what your shooting for. You going for the small compact defense? The Large Mega Defense? Assyrian Magician Splash? Multi Color Magicians? Grey/Pale Green Magicians? Demon Magicians? Basically I find its better to build your Magician Defense first before you put in a offense. The main strength in Magicians are their options they are one of the most versatile defense to use and are by far my favorite due to the huge number of options you have.

the angel that bands to blue

I love that title! Imagine if Cactus produced a "literal Redemption" version. (Kind of like those literal music videos.) You could have cards like this:

Demon That Negates Everything
Emperor Better Have Multiple Heroes
Enhancement That Tosses All ECs
Enhancement That Tosses All Heroes
Enhancement You Can't Stop From Tossing All ECs
Start The Game Over From This Point
Get a Lost Soul Free
Get Another Lost Soul Free
Rip This Card-No, Really, It Was Just a Joke!

I'm sure this could go on ad nauseum, but if it does this post would have to get moved to its own thread.

As for defense, I haven't really decided yet, but I will take the multiple directions under consideration.

lol. Cactus should do that.
But if you decide to do Magicians (or really any defense without a protect fort), make sure you use Kingdoms of This World, so you dont get wiped out by AoCP, 'He is Risen, Valley of Salt and things like that.
