MILLionaire vol. 2

 Hello Redemption Community!

I haven't played too much this year or last partly because of being really busy at school and work but lurking on the boards a month ago and seeing all the new decks coming out like LaFS,  Eyes to See, and some throne/prophets variations made me want to work on my mill deck to see if it was still competitive versus these new waves of decks. I made a lot of changes to help deal with the combo from LaFS and the new meta and all those changes IMO actually made my deck much more competitive and as always fun to play. The only games I played this year were TN State, an online local, and TN regionals. This deck may not be at its best version yet but since I'm probably not going to nationals this year, I wanted to post it on the boards in case anyone wanted to play it there and maybe get some feedback from you folks. Without further ado, here's the list and some notes.

Deck: 50

Doms: I think my Dom picks are the most optimal choices versus LaFS in terms of disrupting the combo IMO. Angel of the Lord and Christian Martyr can be quite useless in the meta with all the big banding offenses and chumps blocks that still seem to reign supreme.

SoG
Second Coming
Mayhem
Chronicles of the Kings
Destruction of Nehushtan (PoC)
Three Woes
Falling Away (Wo)

Lost Souls: I took out lawless for Blind as most of us know how annoying certain NT souls are right now.

Exiles
Distressed
Humble
Hunter
Remnant
Blind
Darkness

Utility Cards: Moses' Staff is a recent arrival to the deck and it's nice not to pull battles winners until after the opening hand and it make all the plagues regardless of protection. Manna is amazing when they have Sheol to keep lost souls on the table and if you have Pithom with Given over to Egypt activated on it, the pressure is real.

Egypt (PoC)
Pithom
Storehouse (Promo)
Covenant with Moses (PoC)
Given Over to Egypt
Moses' Staff
Burial Shroud
Manna
Endless Treasures

Dual Alignment: Slaves in Egypt is all most always a Hero as Moses can band to them and then switch out for Destroyer since Moses can only band to Exodus Humans

Fire Foxes
Scapegoat
Delivered
Slaves in Egypt

Heroes: Jeremiah is my new favorite hero as he help this deck out immensely on offensive since this deck can struggle with rescues outside of the cheese Exodus plays and plus his star ability is amazing right now.

Moses, Friend of God
Miriam (PoC)
A A ron (Disciples)
Samuel (CoW)
Amram & Jochebed
Jeremiah, Hope Bringer
Jonah (PoC)

Good enhancements: People told me to use Emmaus Road a lot and I didn't listen or couldn't find space before but it so good for hand spying and makes the deck more consistent on the first turn. As before, the decks' strength is when the opponent has ten or less cards in deck and you can use the Exodus to rescue your exodus heroes with hidden treasures and you can get the exodus back with Coming Prince to do it twice.

The Exodus
The Emmaus Road
Plague of Blood
Out of Egypt

Evil Characters: The defense changed a lot since 2019. This version actual seems to be able to block once in awhile and still gets my mill stuff working.

Egyptians Magicians
Pagan Sailors
Foreign Wives
The Amalekites' Slave
Profane Daughters
The Lying Prophet
Outsiders (G/B)

Evil Enhancements:
Turn to Egypt
Balaam's Prophecy
Stricken
Scattered Sheep
Beheaded

Reserve: I was really dumb not using Offering Your Son much sooner like Emmaus Road. Going to Covenant with Moses with OYS such a nice play for a quick d3 and pair that with your Balaam's Prophecy to know what your getting.

Unsuccessful
Hidden Treasures
Plague of Frogs
The Coming Prince
The Destroyer (PoC)
Confusion of Mind
Pharaoh's Daughter
Magic Charms
Offering Your Son
Plague of Darkness

While I had a couple of goofs at TN regionals, the changes I made to the deck since TN state and the online local where I got stomped twice by LaFS allows this deck now to be very challenging to play against versus any strategy at the moment and nothing beats the tension this deck seems to create and while you may not always win, you'll always have fun  8).   Questions? Comments? Let me know below!

Looks really nice. Some decent adjustments.

How do you get Ph. Daughter and Destroyer out of Reserve? And what are you using Samuel for? Just getting rid of things + playing 1st? Also any hints on how to pilot that deck?

Out of Egypt can help them as well as remnant soul. Samuel is there as you said to get rid of things. I wonder if a better hero is there to take his place but it’s always seems useful to have your cloud heroes get rid of curses and enhancements just by coming into battle. As for hints to pilot the deck, it would probably be better to play a game with me on Lackey to see the deck in action but generally you want to wait to rescue with Moses until you get his staff and destroyer out with either Aaron to band in destroyer or Slaves in Egypt. Making sure you remember Jonah’s and Pithom’s triggers help a lot with controlling your opponents territory and getting rid of their counters. Exile souls gets hidden treasures usually unless you really need Confusion of mind. Scapegoat and burial shroud help you out immensely if you are falling behind on offense or defense.

One last thing I was considering changing in the if deck if I were to go to nationals is to swap out pagan sailors for Kings of the Earth as KotE’s band ability is pretty useful in this meta and adding Red Dragon for better end game blocking when the opponent has used up there resources.

This deck was sweet to play agianst. I immediately build my own version when I got home to play against Jay Chambers and got a game win. Thanks for playing something different and showing other possibilities!

Couple thoughts. Have you considered playing old school HUR with gifts of the maji? could be sweet to recover from lafs and you have two ways two search out the artifact in your deck? You could even play Philip's Daughter for anther draw engine.

I also was playing your deck with 57 cards to get the extra dominate found it really awesome - a dom tutor is probobly needed if you go this route like david, heart after God or woman with child.

Other two thoughts are playing lafs (white version to draw back your hand???

Love playing with other cards!

The first version of this deck had the Hur/Gifts combo and I agree that it could be a great way to comeback from the combo and running the old love at first sight against the new one is hilarious. Running a green brigade Hur is a better choice to run than the white brigade one so you can play all the TC enhancements on him and Plague of Frogs. I thought about running a 57 card version but I was worried about not being able to draw the counters I need in the opening hand that way. Did you use 57 cards against Jay and what dom did you add?

I added Angel of the Lord back in but i switched the Defense to a slightly bigger D that draws cards to try and keep up with the meta. I will have to post the list on here when i got it tuned!

Looking forward to it! I think if I added a dom though it would be Christian Martyr hands down. The some of the biggest counters to the deck are all heroes i.e., Moses (CoW), Enosh, Foretelling Angel, Obed, or even Noah (LoC) to stop his rainbow brigade shenanigans.

So, with rotation here this deck loses some interesting cards including:

Falling Away (Wo) - I'm excited to see what kinda of impact we'll see losing old falling away in general but it hurts this deck not having it because it usually slow then the meta decks and I use it keep up essentially.

Pithom (Pr) - Very sad about losing Pithom. I hope the promo gets a reprint.

Burial Shroud - Probably good to lose this one for the Game's sake but it was so amazing to hold people back until I was ready

Aaron (Di) - The only exodus character that can outright band to the new destroyer, not sure if the other versions are worth being in the deck

Beheaded - awesome little mill card but it can also discard TC hero's so very flexible. Sad to see it go

Plague of Frogs (G) - Best enhancement I put in the deck last season with FW, KoT, and Red Dragon being meta

Given Over to Egypt - Another great mill card down, hope to see a similiar reprint

Magic Charms - This card was probably too OP and good to see it go and it was confusing to find out how to block it

Hidden Treasures - Another card that needed to go for all the pre battle abuse and I'm glad I started not using as much with the last few iterations of this deck.

Very curious where the mill will go from here. Egyptians will probably not be getting a boost with the next set and I lost a lot of cards that help make the deck what it was. Regardless, I'll be building a rotation version of this deck soon.
