all 360 users firing up their xbox's today should be greeted by an update screen. what does it do exactly? no, its not the expected facebook, twitter, last.fm, and zune video update (that comes later in november), but a software update to support wireless-n. awesome, considering its the fastest wireless connection available across all three consoles (leaving the wii and ps3 in the dust at wireless-g). its also faster than being wired in by an ethernet cable.
the official xbox 360 wireless-n adapter releases on november 10th. its also a cool black color to match my call of duty 4 xbox 360. :)
more info after the jump.

Ah, that's what that was.
I looked for what it was updating, hoping for the Facebook update, but didn't find it and decided that I don't care. :P

For the percentage of people that even have n routers installed at home, and apparently like streaming their 360 game signals to their HP SmartTV, that's pretty cool.
-
i've had an n-router for about a year and a half now, and couldnt fathom going back to a wireless-g. kinda like if you had to go from broadband to dial-up... *shudder* :(

Will the 360 now support Wireless N adapters now? (Not just the Microsoft one)
-
yes. linksys already has a wireless-n gaming adapter out, and the 360 does indeed now support it.
