Xbox-360 games?
« on: December 30, 2009, 06:44:31 PM »

Here's what I look for in a game in order of importance:

1. Replay value. I love games that never get old.
2. Online multiplayer. XboxLive is basically the reason I have an Xbox, so this is a huge plus.
3. Cooperative multiplayer (online or split-screen). Playing with friends is great.
4. A good campaign. I really don't care much at all about single player story modes. Assassin's Creed is the only one I've truely enjoyed the campaign mode.

I've got a lot of extra money, and gift cards, so I'm trying to find another game to get. I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 constantly and need something to play for an occasional break. It's not old yet, but it is getting repetitive (almost 5th prestige...).

That new MX/ATV game looks pretty cool, anyone have any experience playing it?

Any other games people have enjoyed playing? Or any games that are releasing soon? (I already plan on getting Bioshock 2 and possible the new Splinter Cell)

i also am starting to feel the same way about mw2 as well (although i've been having fun recently with the care package glitch on capture the flag...10 flags a game anyone? ;)). i'm very close to picking up borderlands...it meets every criteria on your list, and has TONS of replay value. 2 games i will be picking up when they come out in early january are darksiders and bayonetta. darksiders looks wicked awesome, as its pretty much like god of war, but you play as one of the 4 horseman of the apocalypse (war i believe). bayonetta got all around great scores from its reviews (even a 92 on metacritic), and the twist on it intrigues me (a dark protagonist against the forces of light, like angels and other spiritual beings). its also by the same developers of devil may cry, so that pretty much sealed it for me.

Yeah I was reading about Darksiders, looks pretty awesome.

I'm debating between buying Borderlands or Forza Motorsport 3, but I'm leaning towards Borderlands.

borderlands, most def. too much replay value. my old roommate bought both games at the same, and he still plays borderlands 99% of the time. and hes a HUGE racing game fan! that pretty much told me how awesome borderlands is. :)

he also told me that the developer of borderlands will be releasing DLC every single month until the next borderlands comes out. thats really big in my book: shows huge support and dedication towards your customer base.

Yah it is . The combat is pretty sweet and you can continue after you beet the game, but it gets old really fast after the game is over so I would recommend a rent rather than paying sixty bucks.

I just rented bordelands hopefully it will be cool. However I am a little worried about the artsy graphics
lawfuldog you should get MassEffect 2 which comes out around Jan 20th I heard a lot of good things about it. Are you going to preorder Splintercell? You get a silenced sawed off shotgun!

This isn't a decision. Borderlands. You will NOT get sick of this game. MOST AMAZING two player campaign and when you're done, it restarts, but you get better guns and the enemies are better. Basically, it's like the game again but slightly harder. It's a MUST have for anyone with a 360.

So, is Borderlands not a full MMO? Meaning... is it a one time buy?

no, i dont believe its a full-fledged mmo, but the dlc that is being released every month with it is making the game head that way (more multiplayer interactions).

Really? I got sick of it and I have only rented it for two days.. The graphics aren't my favorites, the weapons aren't very cool, and the missions are petty. I like the leveling up system and the amount of guns (which btw they took like 6 different classes of guns slapped differnent stats on them and names) but the aiming mechanism in the game isn't very good. This game seems like a little brother of fallout 3.

I was very disappointed that neither of the two Targets I went to had Borderlands (I had a gift card to use). So I ended up buying SIMS 3.  :P

I s'pose the next 360 game I'll be getting will just have to be Bioshock 2.

I would have taken Sims over Borderlands even if Target did have Borderlands (and if I didn't already own Sims :P). Borderlands honestly doesn't look that good from the previews and demo vids I've seen.

Sorry to bring the silenced sawed off shotgun thing back.. But if we can put silencers on those does that mean we can put silencers on rocket launchers too?
