I have a pic of a bear under mine.
What does that mean?

If you mean when you're in the arena choosing opponents, nothing, there's just a picture of a bear there.  If there's a picture of a bear under your abilities in your cell, that means you have a bear pet.

How long is a "day"?  Yesterday I made a brute or two early in the afternoon and got 3 more fights in the evening, but it's been 12+ hours since they last fought and they still haven't gotten any more.

I just beat him with a lvl one.. XD he kept dodging all the hammers.

My best so far: Bear, Axe, Agility - Level 3
The best I've seen: Bear, Armour, Vitality (this was crazy. You'd hit 2-3 with fists, he'd hit around 5, his bear would hit around 30, and he had 117 hp) - Level 3

Haha I have like 8, and I didn't keep all of mine.  I plan to level them all up a bit, then pick 2-3 that I like and start trying to get pupils for them.

**edit** maybe we should start another thread specifically for organizing a lot of pupil-ing.  If everyone makes pupils for everyone else's main brutes every now and then, it should help everyone level up faster so we can start a clan. **edit**

What level did you get the wolf at?  I haven't gotten any bears or wolves, and I've made over 50 brutes and abandoned them.

No you don't. There is a bear in the arena for everyone, go back to your cell. If you had a bear, it would be below the weapons/special powers.

is there anyway to equip the weapons? or do they just use it at random?

Everything is automatic.

also, Vitality is automatically there?

Yes, you have higher HP than normal.

The rest just do if you really feel like spending the time, most of them probably won't last that long.  I'm just trying out a lot to see which ones turn out best after a few levels.
