The graphics aren't the problem. The world is more glossy and I think it's actually aged better then Skyrim IMO. The bright colors look better then Skyrim's drab world of grey and brown. The gameplay hasn't aged that great though.

If you think Skyrim combat feels floaty then Oblivion is like hitting a enemy with a pool noodle. It feels pretty bad, though it was cutting edge back in the day! The writing is some of the best Bethesda has ever done! The main storyline kind of stinks but the side quests and guild quests are some of the best in the series. The Dark Brotherhood storyline in particular is amazing.

I'd still recommend it to people just know it's a old game and it feels old. Even though Morrowind has horrible combat I still recommend people to play it for the same reason, the writing and world building in the old Bethesda games is fantastic, much better then their new games.

Are you looking forward to SkyWind or SkyBlivion? I've heard that Morrowind and Oblivion are good games, but the actual gameplay isn't that amazing. I'm hoping that those issues will be fixed with those mods.

Isildur:
Those mods have been in development for forever I doubt they'll be finished anytime soon.

The gameplay in Morrowind and Oblivion is more janky then bad. The RPG aspects are so awesome in Morrowind and Oblivion that I could care less if the combat is janky. Morrowind has this funky hidden dice roll combat and Oblivion is like hitting each other with foam swords and hammers. Just because a game has dated gameplay doesn't make the game unplayable.

If graphics are a big deal Morrowind and Oblivion can be highly modded and the high res textures can make the games look better then even base game Skyrim. No real way to "fix" the gameplay though. It is what it is. I enjoy it, others who aren't used to old school games it'll take some getting used to.

Morrowind is such a weird alien like world that I find absolutely fascinating. Some people say Oblivion is bland but it is a High Fantasy world at it's finest! I love both games if you can't tell ;D

Both these games have a ton of content mods also. Morrowind has one that basically doubles the size of the entire game! Some modders added the main content of Vvanderfell to the game! It's super awesome!
