I've been out of the T2 game for a bit and was wondering what is popular now-a-days
-
For offense: TGT, Isaiah, Judges, Genesis, Disciples, Angels, and others.
For defense: Assyrians, Demons, Egyptians, Black, Creepers, and others.
It's pretty wide open right now. The above are just most of what I saw at the T2 only.

Whats tier 1?
-
I would agree with Westy that T2 is wide open right now. I started playing T2 in 2007 and the types of decks that are good now is greater than ever, in my opinion.
Below is my take - Feel free to disagree. There are more combinations not listed but they can often be hard to define.
Offense
Tier 1
- Judges
- Genesis
- Throne of David/Red
- Judges/Red
- Garden Tomb/Samaritans
- Isaiah
- FBN WC Banding
Tier 2
- Garden Tomb
- Red
- Throne of David
- Disciples
- Samaritans
- Daniel
Tier 3
- Mono Silver
- Z Temple Priests
- Musicians
Defense
Tier 1
- Magician/Assyrian/Demon variations
- Caananites
- Egyptians
- Babylonians
- Panic Demons
Tier 2:
- Creeping Deceiver
- Pharisees
- Assyrians
- Emperors
- Orange Demons
Tier 3:
- Persians
- Gates of Samaria
- Syrians
- Philistines
- Sadducees

Seems like a pretty diverse meta. That's pretty appealing to me, don't know why I've taken this long to get into it. Maybe its the fact I have to play with a monstrosity of a deck. :P

And imagine having to shuffle that deck time after time after time...yup, that's T2 in the NW.

I play pretty unconventional I like to think. Type 2 anything right now can be strong just about due to the versatility. As long as its got counters and options it can win. Make sure the ratios are your ratios not someone else's. By that I mean if you like to attack more make your offense hero heavy. If when you attack you like to have plenty of options go less heros and more enhancements. My main deck right now and it's a mix of everything. Offense is banding with foreign swords that utilize heros special abilities more than enhancements. The defense is also a mix. I use cbn banding there too and never allow you to play an enhancement and I play a cbn kill. I use Assyrians, magicians, demons, and somehow it all works. It's got one loss under its belt and plenty of wins. So really it all depends on your play style because so many things are good. Use what you know but also what is fun for you.

Decks I saw at the T2 Only tournament (T2 2P):
Genesis/Heretics
OT Warriors Banding/Babylonians
Genesis/Egyptians
Purple Royalty/Egyptians
TGT/Demons
OT Warriors Banding/Assyrians (might have had a couple Magicians)
Judges/Pharisees-Persians
Genesis/Magicians-Assyrians
Judges/Magicians-Assyrians
Purple Royalty/Pharisees
TGT/Magicians-Demons
Judges-Daniel/Magicians-Demons
TGT-Disciples/Magicians-Assyrians
Priests/Persians
Though I'm sure there were plenty of "duplicates" the only one I know of for sure is Genesis/Heretics of which I saw two.
Coincidentally, CountFount did not debut his Deacons/Animals deck...he must be saving that for the big tournaments this summer... ::)
