OK, I'd really like to try a Type 2 deck for out tournament next month, but I have NEVER made one.  I don't even remember the deck construction rules.  Please help me out.  Thanks in advance!

1)  What are the deck construction rules (seeing as I don't have a rulebook anymore)?  Please get specific on how many of each type of card are allowed.

2)  How can I make a competitive deck without multiple copies of powerful cards?  I have 16 real life decks to create from, but for most powerful/rare characters and enhancements I just have one (maybe two) of each card (Never thought I would need more than one).  But I have multiples of "staple" cards like Captured Ark, Unholy Writ, Unknown Nation, Wall of Protection, Special Ability lost souls, Dominants, Sites, etc.  Has anyone ever done well with just one or at the most two copies of each card in a 100 card deck?

Thanks for your help and advice!

good and evil must be equal in number. deck must be 100+ cards. 1 SA lost soul per 50 cards. same with sites. 1 multicolor enhancement/character, 5 single brigade enhancement/character, 3 for artifacts.

By multi do you mean "rainbow", or just "More than one color"?  For example, How many Amalekite Slaves (Gold/Brown) can you have in your deck?

ok heres what i do-

100 cards
- 14 ls
86 cards
-----------------
40 good
40 evil
6 nuetral (access,arts)
-----------------

ratios:
40 good/evil
-----------
15 heros/ec
20 enhancments
5 misc. good/5 misc. evil- now these 10 cards 5good/5evilcan go into the above nuetral section but they must go in pairs
-also you still have 5 cards to work with to give you 105 cards for your deck w/ 14 ls if you want them

choose an offence:
TGT?
Teal/Green?
Teal/Purple?
make sure you can rescue NT/Female ls somehow-something told me not to play with ls's that I cant rescue in my deck and they were used against me last tourney.
dont forget some kind of way to draw into your deck a little bit (card advantage)
make sure your offence and defence dont clash (place cards on defence with scapegoat on offence are a no-no) :)
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

1)  What are the deck construction rules (seeing as I don't have a rulebook anymore)?  Please get specific on how many of each type of card are allowed.

Here are the type 2 deck building rules:

A deck may contain no more than five (5) of any card.

A deck may contain up to three (3) of any Fortress, Artifact, Covenant, or Curse.

Maximum of 1 of each in a deck:

•      Multi-colored enhancements, Heroes, or Evil Characters

•      Dominant (lamb icon or grim reaper icon card)

Maximum of 1 of each per 50 cards in a deck:

•      Lost Soul card that has a special ability

•      Site with a special ability

Other rules:

•      The number of your good cards and the number of your evil cards MUST be equal.

•      The number of sites may not exceed the number of Lost Souls in a deck.

•      There is no maximum of cards to a deck as long as it contains the appropriate number of Lost Souls (see table). The Proverbs 22:14 ("2-line") or Proverbs 22:14 ("3-line") Lost Souls card counts as one Lost Soul for deck building purposes.

NOTE: Type 2 games are played to 7 Lost Souls and use the Rescuer’s Choice and Experience Credit optional rules as standard.

This may be hard to do. Maybe do a FBTN banding offense. For defense you could do stand alones and/or site lock.

Rescuer's Choice means you choose what lost soul you're trying to rescue at the beginning of battle (if they bury or SoG that soul, you lose the rescue attempt). Experience Credit means that when you make a successful rescue, or successful block, your character(s) gain 1/1

Rescuer's Choice is AWESOME. it makes it sooo much easier to win defensive battles (something needed, IMO).

Experience Credit just evens initiative problems. TSA can get out of hand, but...

Another question.  How do those "Once" or "Twice per game" cards work in Type 2?  For example, if I had 3 Captured Arks, does that mean I can use each one twice, or do they count as one Captured Ark with a maximum of two uses still?  Am I making sense?

Thanks.

Holy Grail says twice per game. you can only use it twice per game. Captured Ark says may be used twice. you can use it twice and then it's discarded.

Yet another question.  (Sorry!)

Can I have more than one of the same unique character in my territory at the same time?  I know I can't have them in the same battle, but can I at least get them out of my hand somehow?

Thanks again.

Next strategy question.  How many of one particular character do most of you put in a 100 card deck?  Is 3 a safe number?  I'm afraid if I did 5 I'd risk having multiples in my hand/territory at the same time.

Thanks again!

2-4, depends on how important the hero is to your strategy.

If they're unique and not important to your game plan, only 1.  If they are generic and important 5.  If they are unique and important then 2-4.

Is a site like Ends of the Earth considered a one per deck multi-color card, or a "site with a special ability", for deck building purposes?

Sites with special abilities follow the 1 per 50 cards rule. So you could have 2 The Ends of the Earth cards in a 100 card deck. Also, sites are generic so you could have both copies in play at the same time.

That's unfortunate.  I think site lockout would be much easier in type 2 if they were limited to one of each multi-color site.

Sitelock is still very viable in T2. Sites are not safe at all. A Philly defense with 5 Land Disputes is beastly. You must have other ways to access sites in T2 other than access sites for this reason.

I thought that since it was rainbow, you could only have one in your deck
