Title: Sitelock Back???
Post by: adotson85 on October 04, 2011, 01:59:00 AM
I was messing around with some ideas and decided to revisit sitelock on defense. I paired it with a Judges offense and threw in a little anti-meta fun. Here is a rough draft:

Sites
CP x2
NT silver sites x10

Forts
Kingdoms of the World
Assyrian Camp
Philly Outpost

Curses
CwD x2
RBD
Captured Ark

Pale Green Evil Characters
Assyrian Siege Army x4
Assyrian Survivor x3
Assyrian Archers x3

Pale Green Evil Enhancements
Confusion x4
DoU x4

Black Evil Characters
Goliath x2
Garrison x2
Philly Armor Bearer x3
Philly Priests
12 FG

Black Evil Enhancements
Land Dispute x4
Bringing Fear x4

I think this could do really well. ASA to get rid of access sites, artifacts and forts, confusion to pick out site access, DoU to shuffle straggling souls and as a battle winner, Goliath to send access heroes packing, land dispute to take sites and CwD to negate heroes with access. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas if this would be viable or any suggestions to make it better?

Doesn't look half bad to me. Best part is most won't be prepared for it.

Only thing I've ever seen you dominate is cheese dip!  ;)

I don't know about T2, but I'm unsure if silver sites are the best idea.

What is your logic behind that? Silver is rarely used in T2, making the chance of facing a silver offense very slim.

Thought to ponder on:  DoU would give their sites back that you manage to steal.  Also, Nazzys and CPs may mess up your plans as well.  Silver Sites combined with CwD may not be a bad combination to protect from TSAs.

I hung around some T2 players at Nats, and their main complaint was TSA

It will be rare that I have a soul in one of their sites that I take, so that is not too big of a concern. ASA can discard CP, but doubt I will run into it too much. Also, as SS said, CwD will take care of TSA as will the Phillies.

A mono-Silver offense was one small move away from taking 1st at Nationals. Of course, the reasoning was that most of us thought the same thing, that Silver wouldn't be played, and no one expected it.

Most T2 decks will have some silver. Judges and Sam/Royalty will have the Judges Angels, Isaiah will have his associates, lots of decks will still splash TSA/Captain (all these years and they're still bomb-diggity) and even the older strats, like TGT and Disciples, often use Gabriel and old Cherubim respectively. Not only that, but Canaanites with a light Philly splash will be popular, which means that you might run into decks with Sodoms (which can be recurred and protected with Fortify Site) as well as Land Disputes.

I'm not saying it won't work, and against some decks, it most likely will. But I could see an Isaiah deck doing well against the deck, especially if they have a way to beat Goliath.

But if your opponent gets two copies of CP down, you can't discard it with ASA. I've seen at least 4 opponents use CP this season already.

I am using Judges on offense. So i can use the silver angel who negates sites to bring in a judge who can play sword against sword to bring in my ASA. Should I use a different color for the sites? Prefer NT so CP can protect them.

You'll probably see every brigade this year. I'd go with multiple brigades of sites if I were you. Chorazin lets you activate one of your many important curses for a turn, so that's a nice add. The rest of the NT sites don't do much for you, but neither do the silver sites (at least one of which you'll want to keep anyway).

I shall predict that teal will be the least used brigade this season, especially in type 2.

Heh. I'm not sure if thats going to be an accurate statement or not, but even it it was, the problem with teal sites, is that you can only have 6 in a T2deck. (Since there's only 3, and all of them have an SA.)

And none of the teal sites are NT.

As long as you dont place thier sites in your Land of Bondage then the shuffle effect wont target them...

Death of Unrighteous (Pa)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Pale Green • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Shuffle all Lost Souls and sites in holder's Land of Bondage into owner's draw pile. Discard all Evil Characters in battle. • Play As: Shuffle [return] all Lost Souls, sites, and evil cards in sites in your Land of Bondage into your deck. Discard all Evil Characters in battle. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Genesis 7:23 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Rare)

Good Job on the lockout! Looks pretty good.
