Title: Place Defense
Post by: adotson85 on June 21, 2010, 01:20:26 AM
I have been toying around with some ideas for a type 2 defense. I have looked at end the battle, SiTC, Babylonians, demons and several others. I am wondering how effective is a "place" defense? I was thinking of using High Places and the pale green place cards that negate hero SA's and prevent heroes from entering battle as well as splashing in either Orange w/ Destructive Sin or brown w/ IOJ. I am leaning toward brown since Uzzah and Gomer are better standalone choices IMO, but I do like that DS stops I Am Grace. I think this defense could be strong paired with water jars, but I just want some input from people who have used this defense before or just general input on what cards to include.

I would tend to lean towards orange, because Destructive Sin is a better card than is Image O'Jealousy (IMO)--primarily because it negates I am Grace. Orange also has a couple of demons that can play pale green, which could be useful should you ever need to actually go into battle.

On the other hand brown does get a big, big boost by having King Ahaz to let you search for High Places. Also when you get tired of placing stuff you can always use High Places to play Dungeon of Malchiah and give them a new wrinkle on what they need to worry about.

Hmmmmm.... Somethings worth thinking some more about.

Don't forget to include Blindness.  That way you can block with a small character to keep them from "suiciding" their Hero to get rid of DS.
