^Title. I plan on using a purple offense, but I don't know what I should do for defense. Any ideas?

Sam/Red
Say what? That's not a defense.

Ignore him. He's a speed player, and thus doesn't know what a "defense" is, so he's just biased in favor of bigger offenses.
Kings of Israel/Gates of Samaria has some good synergy with purple royalty, with Solomon and Hiram helping get Gates out faster, and Amaziah being able to CtB. That's what I would use.

It depends on what kind of purple you're planning to use. If you want Kings, then ProfAlstad's suggestions are better than anything I could say. If you're using Disciples, though, I played with someone's T2 deck awhile ago that was Disciples/Emperors and it synced really well.

The issue is more that I'm a speed reader. Ditto on the Kings defense. Perhaps you could splash Manny/Amon and some demons, so you could have a Gates/Gates/Gates defense.

I'm planning on using OT purple, should have clarified.

Brown goes well with it, but I think this years brown defense in type 2 is not strong enough. Try to splash in some tricks to it, or play with something else.

[to Original Post] I don't know much about T2 defenses, so I won't say anything but I will briefly go off-topic below.
Off-topic [to Mr. Hiatus]: I thought of your username today because there is a road where I live called "Hiatus Road" and I drove past it.

Lol, thanks man?
Back to topic though, Assyrians work well with it, just watch out with King Hezekiah/Camp.
