Title: will we see angels
Post by: sepjazzwarrior on May 24, 2017, 11:20:59 AM
This is one of the first times in Redemption history that mono angels is a legitimate deck (for the most part), so I just wanted to take a census of how many ppl plan to use mono or mostly angels decks, or at least how common do you think they will be?  Thanks

My prediction is that the meta will be angel offenses and anti-angel defenses. Maybe a splash of orange and white here and there.

I personally think that Job/angels and JobECs/demons will be pretty popular.

Silver white with Three Nails that can recur Child of Great wisdom and play it pre-block will be virtually unstoppable.

Ahem...a mono-Silver* deck won T2 2P last year... 8)

*Okay, okay, it had Daniel (promo) and Joshua (CoW) but otherwise mono-Silver...

Are pharisees and sadducees that popular this year?
Or did you mean a child is born?  ;D

I meant Child of Great Wisdom, thus the need to play it pre-block. High Priest Ananias is one of the best anti-angel cards in the game.

that's why I said for the most part.  there have been stand-out decks over the years but its never been a big part of the meta

Nope, no one will be playing Angels.

Oh yeah, good point. That is a bit tricky to pull off though...

A white enhancement from Apostles (common, I think) that ignores Pharisees/Sadducees.

I'm considering multiple versions: 12 Gate Angels, Angel/Martyr's and mono-Angels.

As long as AUTO, Captain, and The Strong Angel are around we will see angels in some capacity. BOM decks might even play all of those with a Michael the Archangel and Angel with a Secret Name as well.

I think we will see more angels than ever before, but I would be surprised to see a mono-silver deck make it to top cut. Silver just isn't fast enough. I definitely think there will be some very good decks that splash silver; Silver/Purple, BOM/Silver, Silver/white.

Being that Top Cut is only top 4 this year, it's tough to say with certainty that any specific deck will make top cut.

With the new Micael, servant angel, FLC, fifth seal, angelic guidance, and gabriel, i think angels are good. they certainly aren't as fast as throne, (i think it's probably impossible to make a deck faster than throne) but they have plenty of speed i think.

*Pulls out next year's preliminary set list*

Challenge accepted.  8)

;D I don't doubt there will be something faster next year (although that is a little scary to think about) but right now, i don't think there is anything.
