What Defense works with a herolite deck? Have access to a lot of cards so most things are options. Trying to fit it into a fifty to sixty card deck. Thanks!

If by herolite you mean Israelite heroes, I've found Egyptians work pretty well with their discard, banding and high stats.

By herolite I mean a Saul/Paul deck, and was actually considering egyptians for those exact reasons. Great minds think alike I guess. ;)

My favorite defense to use with Heroless is Herods/Sadducees. Sadducees (with the 3 HPs) allow you to use Urim and Thummim, which is often critical for your end game strategy. In addition, you have some negates (Foolish Advice and Devourer) some major Hero-destruction cards (Hunger and Wrath) and a few sneaky cards that can help both offensively and defensively (High Priest's Plot and Chief Priest's Offer). Herods are one of the better anti-meta defenses there is, and HAII allows you to band to Sadducees (HAII+Ananias is a nice CBN band that can beat a lot of FBTN bands, and they go especially well with Mask of Fear and Foolish Advice). Herod's Dungeon and Treachery are also really nice in any defense, but especially in defenses that need to shut down opponents' offenses.

The problem with Egyptians is that they are better at stalling than Hero destruction. They would be more well-suited in a Watchful Servant Hero-lite IMO, but I know that Josh Kopp (TKVPresident), who had one of the earliest Heroless decks, used Egyptians.

Personally I like Herods/Egyptians.  The Herods have the power as the "other Prof" has excellently covered.  But they aren't very fast, and if you are going to lock out a super-fast speed deck you're going to NEED to get your defense out fast as well.  That is where the Egyptians come in.  Prof A is right that they are better for stalling than destruction, but stalling buys you time to draw your Herod stuff, and especially with all the extra drawing that Egyptians do.  The fact that both of these defenses are the same brigade just adds to the fun as you can use all of your enhancement all the time.

Using Pharisees with Saul/Paul also works fairly well. They have some speed and the ability to recur their best blocks. False peace and momentum change can add the ability to search out cards u want right now on multiple turns. Also with Saul/Paul adding Samaritans and meeting the messiah gives you an additional shot at converting Saul and gives u an extra d2.  Toughest part of Saul/Paul is defending against invoking terror. Obadiahs caves saves him from removal and capture while herod's temple plus Lampstand can save him in and out of battle from discards.

Heavy philistines.. can come back from discard, Ashdod using chariots, end the battle cbn, gold shield, and Goliath is a monster! But what I do is I get lahmi with namaan's chariots and horses, Saph with Golden shield, and philly gar with phil chariots.... You got to have Ashdod to play your end the battle things but Phillies can stall till you get their.
