Philistines are okay, but weak against things like Angel, as they tend to be solo characters. Canaanites are better, and Canaanite giants can be ridiculously fast. Being able to play off of Priests of Zeus is always fun, although I haven't tried greeks enough to say anything about them.

Syrians have some fun toys this year, and I feel like there's potential to be nasty this year. Rezin to Strong Force is painful, and Naaman is just good. Add Syrian Mercenaries and Syrian Reinforcements and you've got a pretty strong defense. And then there's The Terrifying Beast, who's just icing on the cake.

I get the feeling that mono orange will be pretty good once PoC2 rolls around. Fallen Star is incredible, and they still have all the RoJ toys that made them strong the last couple years. Even with Fallen Star's unity you likely run a Judean Mediums, so there's a bit of play-around you need to do, but it's strong.

Demon-Magicians is certainly still a top defense.

There are probably a few viable directions. The list I've been running is basically splashing the best from each theme. It's a little outdated because I was preparing for an un-nerfed Alex the Great, so I should probably have KoT instead of Antiochus...

EC
Outsiders
Priest of Zeus
War
Demetrius
The Winged Leopard
High Priest Ananias
Saph
Antiochus

EE
Wages
JiP
Plot to Kill
Seized by Rioters
Betrayal

Reserve
Paying Taxes
Lahmi's Spear
Ishbibenob's Sword
Ragrets

The Amalakites Slave
The Serpent
King of Tyrus PoC
Red Dragon
The Judean Medium
Gomer
Uzzah or in reserve and The Deceiver here
Leviathan
Fire foxes
I also use a prophet offense so I can utilize the Great Fish, Scapegoat, and Behemoth

Great Mourning
Scattered
Mourn and Weep
Blasphemies

I usually have some more orange in the reserve, this is all off memory I don’t have the deck in front of me but I block with Uzzah and don’t have to use his ability, play great mourning and play falling away, scattered or CM. Block with the The Serpent, set aside their guy, play mourn and weep, scattered if available, play grapes if possible, die. Fire foxes mourn and weep in battle is also amazing. Pretty much I use Great Mourning/Mourn and Weep and a battle winner or dominant then die. Uzzah/Fire foxes if needed and Scapegoat in a pinch. You can potentially stop rescues for up to 4 times, 3 of them still giving you a rescue and stopping theirs. Pretty annoying and has a lot of versatility.
