Title: What defense goes well with a Teal offense?
Post by: redemption collector 777 on January 29, 2014, 11:20:50 PM
Does anyone happen to know or have any ideas of what defense cards or theme would work well with a teal hero offense? for tournament reasons?

Anything speedy (Pharisees, Egyptians). I've also seen Magicians and Philistines both preform fairly well with teal.

If you include Ezekiel in your offense, Babylonians work very well with him.

Would a waster method work well? (getting the opponent to have a low card count) and possibly reduce opponent draw? Thus making your deck "faster"?

Since I am still new to some forum/redemption terms , why are those defense themes considered "speedy"? is it because they have a decent amount of draw and search abilities?

I don't think a Teal only offense is really going to get you too far. If you can try and add some other themes like Garden Tomb or Judges that would be great. I am coming from the standpoint of a complete collection but I don't know if Judges or Garden Tomb are themes you have right now. If if you don't have enough cards to splash something like that teal isn't a bad option, it's just not the best.

As for defense, assuming you play straight teal, you'll want something that draws well because teal is very slow. Pharisees are about the only defense I can think of, as Egyptians are fast but worse than pharisees in about every way.
