PWD helps with Herod defenses. With correct timing, the only Male Heroes they can use are ones with 4-6 defense. Other than Gold, very few offenses use Heroes that fit the bill. Beast from the Earth is another good card to splash into a Herod defense.

What is PWD? I'm not up with all the abbreviations (there's so many, and some can refer to multiple cards). Beast from the Earth is an interesting choice, I'll add him in.

Are there any evil gold "place" cards that are good that I'm missing? I'm not sure if High Places is needed with only 2 so far, or if I should break into another brigade to make it more useful.

PWD is Plagued With Diseases, a Brown Curse which decreases the opponents hero's by /2 or /3 if they have less or more redemed souls than you respectively.

Alright, I threw in PWD, but I think the defense is still lacking in some regard, especially since it only has 5 characters.

ok pwd is a curse can be played as an artifact and more then likely prolly should be why do you have beast from the earth also i know its not herod but maybe add queen tehpenaz the egyptian chic. also maybe king of tyrus the gold version then maybe the herod agripa 1 i think it is that deals with peter for some anti tgt stuff

So...Herods is harder than I thought. It seems like they'd be better in a bigger defense than I have room for in this deck with purple. Would it be better to switch to Philistines or Assyrians?

Deck updated.

Could use some opinions on the new defense. ^_^

Hunger is a good card to combo with PWD.

Do you have a suggestion for what to take out? My initial thought would be Wrath of Satan as Hunger doesn't affect my own heroes while WoS would.

how does pwd help? pwd affects defense, while herods dungeon is based off of offense.

Perhaps he thought PWD was 2/0(3/0) rather than 0/2(0/3)?

I think I may end up taking it out to put GoYS back in.

You're right, of course. Any suggestions for what to replace him with?

if you're looking for another king, either king hiram or king hezekiah would be good. hiram to tutor for both of your ot fortresses or speed up drawing (he also has excellent stats), or hezekiah to get rid of anything stopping your ttod (a very awesomely underrated card).

Alrighty, I swapped Asa for Hiram, but I'm wondering if I can work Hezekiah in, too, as he does have a nice effect. Just not sure what to take out to put him in (maybe PWD?).

The reason PWD works well with Herods even though Dungeon is based on offense is that Heroes people use frequently with an offense less than 7 will typically have a defense less than 4. And since he's using Black anyway, the ability to wipe out all but a select few Heroes regardless of protection from Discard...timed well that's game-ending.

Ah! I see what you mean.

Hunger + PWD = bye bye heroes with 8(9) or less toughness, unless I'm mistaken....

Took out Devourer to put Hunger in.

Any last comments/suggestions before I commit myself to using this deck next time I play on RTS?

I would take out King Hirum for Kind Hezzy.

You mean Hezekiah? He's already in there :P

sorry my bad. lol Didn't see him with all the kings in there lol. I love throwing elijah in there. CM doesn't get rid of him in battle too.

Replacing Hiram with Elijah would mean one less way to search for my fortresses as well as one less target for The Throne of David.

Too many enhancements to evil characters. WAY too many. You're gonna find you don't have evil characters and you're going to be discarding enhancements cause you can't play them.

I haven't had that trouble so far when playtesting this deck...Is there some reason you would think that? All the enhancements are either battle winners or "place" cards.

Why Herod 1? I think Herodian would be a better fit.

Hmm, I suppose you are correct. Is Herodian considered a "herod" for card's like Rash Oath and Herod's Treachery?

it doesn't say that, but I'd assume so since he has herod in the title and he can do something related to herods. as much of a herod as Herodias is, at least.

Alrighty, HA1 removed for Herodian.

Herodian is NOT a Herod to my knowledge. I can be wrong but I believe he was a helper to herod.

Here's a hint: use Herod Agrippa II and convert him to a hero. So much for protection forts.  ;D

I'm pretty sure the herodians were just people who supported the herods politically, kind of like Republicans and Democrats. Herodian is not a Herod, nor does he have Herod in the title (according to the REG at least) so he can't even band to another copy of himself.

Herodias also doesn't have Herod in the title according to the REG, and I don't believe she would be considered a Herod either. Especially since Salome's ability differentiates between the two.

I never suspected Herodias was a Herod, I just thought I'd ask about Herodian for the sake of clarification and knowing what my deck does before using it in a game. Thanks for the confirmation ^_^
