I would keep FW in the reserve, personally. Throne is still a thing, and Endurance of Job will see play now. I might also take out FoSam, as you already have two banding characters, and put in snake into fire instead, as it is cbn on Peter and Stephen, and is still an interrupt that can get rid of an EE or an nonhuman EC. :2cents:

I am Gabe
Also, Cov of Prayer really should get an Errata to be renamed to "I am Gabe"

I'm not sure I'd cut Faith of Sam, but I agree that Snake into the Fire is highly underrated.

FW is in main deck for Stone.

That's a good point, but I think an argument could certainly be made for swapping FW with Lot's Wife--especially when LW can play 3 of the evil battle winners.

The Mayhem block potential puts Wives ahead of LW for me.

Yeah Snake is one of my favorite GEs. Unfortunately we have too many awesome clay enhancements to choose from and Faith of Sam provides a reasonable potential for a draw 8 in one battle (AftS+Justin+Blood+Faith).

I suppose one other factor is how often you find yourself attacking with Peter and Stephen. I could potentially see putting Res. of Martyrs into Reserve (since you already have Gam's) and main-decking Snake IF Pete and Steve were common rescue options for you.

A large part of the power of this deck comes from having Gam's, Polycarp, and Res all out at the same time, especially since Res gives you Poly back so effectively you have 4 negates on standby if they try to stop any of your battle winners.

I feel like you have wayyyy too few maindeck ways to a hero.

Between I Am Creator, Covenant of Prayer, and Justice Seekers he does have a couple options to get Heroes out, but yeah, I agree that 8 does seem pretty slim even for a 50 card deck.

8 Heroes, 2 dedicated Hero searches (Patmos and IaC), 2 more cards that can get a Hero in a pinch (Justice Seekers and Covenant with Prayer). 12 seems like plenty to me.

And Patmos...with 8 Heroes plus those 4, it's pretty tough to draw an opening hand of 8 and not get any of those. A 50 card deck with Hopper and 12 "Hero options" gives you a 95% chance of having at least one of those 12 in your opening 8 (almost 99% if you go second and draw the first 3).

Obviously Cov Prayer and Justice Seekers aren't ideal for "spending" to get Heroes, but in a pinch they work.

*Edit--instaposted...but with stats!  8)

I guess I'm just old school.

Why no Balaam's Disobedience? Cutting Crucify Him for that makes sense to me, unless there's a secret reason...
Balaam's just isn't what it once was. Eternal Inheritance and Peter's Sermon should be in every clay deck and Angel offenses are a thing now. The ability to win negate wars is very important in this meta and having Woes, G's Speech, Plot and Crucify gives me a pretty good chance. Finally Crucify is NT which helps Entrapping Pharisee.

Yeah pretty much this. I think I will go with Barnabas over Hopper though.

 +1

With awake, imitate, and Mel in the meta, hopper is just too much of a liability imo. plus, Barney gives you another hero, which i agree with Red and KoalaKing, more than 8 is needed.

50 card deck with no Hopper but 13 "options" pushes the odds to 96% going first and 99.1% going second.  8)

Do I smell a new LoR series?

Heh, still working on Part 3 of the multi-player series, but perhaps a deck building series will be next after that.

The % are from a simple Excel formula I wrote where you enter the number of non-LS cards and the number of "X" cards (cards you hope to have in opening hand) and it gives the probability of having at least one of those cards in your opening 8, and your opening 11 if you go second.

"X" cards could be your dominants, your Heroes, your ECs, a set of specific counters you included, etc.
