I would pick Angel of the Lord, especially in an offensive heavy deck. Grapes is too situational.

Actually, I would argue that Grapes is far more useful, especially in offensive heavy decks.  When you're playing meta against meta, sometimes you have no winning blocks.  Block with one of your few EC and you can turn it into an actual battle-winner (and shuffle their most useful heroes away for at least a small reprieve).

AotL is great for an auto-win (when they don't use a dom or art to auto-stop after that) when your opponent blocks with a single EC, but it is far less useful now that there are so many protect forts and you can't hit someone with a play-next weapon on him in territory.

Just play Wrath on a WC EC when Carcasses is up, and BOOM! CBN.

I prefer grapes honestly. I almost never use it offensively.

Block with some low number guy, play a strong enhancement like confusion, then use grapes on the enhancement, rather than your character.

No.

Almost right.  It could be done if Wrath did not cause a losing condition (that is, enough numbers on the hero(es) in battle survive that they are not 'losing' the battle) and you played AoTL on your only EC in battle (which would win a dominant slapjack as well, as it was responding to your own action) to prevent your opponent from being able to play enhancements.

If it causes a losing condition, however, this would not be allowed as they are allowed to play enhancements with special initiative before you could play a dominant.

Thats why you cannot negate an opponents Death of Unrighteous.

I think he was referring to Wrath.

In which case you use Bringing Fear before hand...

I'm going to go ahead and agree with this I think. In my current Samuel speed deck, I have three FBTN characters, three top-tier battle winners, and a few different ways of constructing 3+ character banding chains. It's only in the very beginning of the game, or if things are neck and neck and my opponent blocks with someone who can play Plot, that I ever find a use for Angel (occasionally on a magician with Charms or an Uzzah, but very rarely). Grapes can be nearly an auto-block, or get rid of some pesky heroes to perhaps help set up an Uzzah or A Slave to do their thing, along with the obvious applications on offense. Right now I use both of them, but I may strip it and try a new dominant set, and I can confidently say that while Grapes is an absolute staple in my decks, at least for the moment, AotL is not.

AOTL is better. If you play GOW on their EC in battle, you have to shuffle your Hero('s) back into your deck. And what if you have more LS's than opponent? You cannot make another RA. If you play AOTL, then you automaticaly kill your opponents EC. The only common band chain for defense is Gomer+KOT, if you just kill KOT, then you only need a 4/4 hero to kill Gomer, and its unlikely that your opponent will have something to play on her.  :2cents:

Actually, the better option is to kill Gomer so that they can't play Plot. The meta-defense may not be able to play anything to stregthen KoT, so if you have a CBN battle-chain and then AotL Gomer, they don't have much of a choice but to let KoT die.

To sum up this entire thread, it's all dependent on the situation.

Which is why U&T is still one of the best cards in the game.
