Add in Asher to make it 56. Genesis needs recursion to survive.

EDIT:

BTW how useful is cup of wrath in this deck?

Done.

I'd like to add a CP and Nazzy to help my Emperors stay alive and stop Captured Ark. Ideas?

I would take out Wrath of Satan since I only see one character for you to play it on. I also see beheaded, and no gold (unless I totally missed something.)

I would take out those for CP and Nazzy.

Rome lets you play those.

Oh gotcha, didn't think about that... Eh maybe keep in Wrath then... But I would definitely take out Beheaded for Nazzy.  You know what, taking out Zeb may be the thing to do here.  Since you're running a bit of hand control Zeb is less useful.  That would give you room for CP.

Zebulun was more for the D1 and to get around KoT, but he could definitely be dropped. Beheaded was mainly to drop AUTO, but I just looked up the ability and it says human. Lame. Probably dropping.

Cup of Wrath+Wrath FTW.

Oh I see it now, and if you use cup while Joe is in battle your offense stays alive!

Anyway, Zeb's D1 is that significant, and I see plenty of ways to counter KoT already in there.  I think that cutting him is your best bet.

So now that we've chipped away at the fluff...will this deck work? I tend to build about 10 decks a year, and this is always my hang up...

I think you'd be better off doing Herods with a small Gentyptians splash if the main thing you're looking for is a NT defense. You can still use Romans Destroy Jerusalem, and in general, I think Herods are better at being an actual defense than Emps/Phars.

With a good draw this should be a really tough deck to beat.  Your Genesis offense should have 0 problems ripping apart any defense that your opponent uses.

The issues that I see are 1. blocks and 2. Drawing

This deck has some speed, and with the new rules about rescuing your own souls, you'll probably be OK.  (not great bu OK)

My main concern is whether your defense will get enough blocks early to mid game before your hand control and other combos get set up.  I guess play-testing is the best way to find out...

My main thing is Twice Afflicted + Prisoner Transfer and Exchanger to Exchange for 5 Lost Souls, then using Just a Hireling, Burial, and Hormah to dump those souls back into my opponents deck.

I definitely wasn't going to say that, but it's too much fun to keep secret.

Yeah, I noticed prisoner transfer there, it looks like a fun combo.  I should try it out myself.  My concern is still the same though, will you get a block or two before the combo is set up.

You've already got Scribe and Proud Pharisee.  Why not add Gomer (always nice anyway) and Gib Trick for the infiniblock?

I have a pretty solid endgame right now. Between hand discard and soul devastation, I should be okay. I'm more worried about getting to that point. I'd like to add Uzzah, Trembling Demon, Holy of Holies, and Torment for 3 easy blocks in the early turns.

Definitely add Uzzah, the problem with trembling demon + HoH is that it takes two cards to set up.

Perhaps you may want to consider Goliath + Withdraw LS, that fits with your soul hiding strategy, and he can be chump block if you get him on turn one or two.

The problem with LS hiding combos is that the FBTN Lost Soul shuts them down, and the FBTN LS is a lot better with the rule changes.

Not at all true. Thorns stops it. Shuffler stops it (but nobody plays with that anymore...too devastating with SoG). But all FBTN stops is the Exchanger, and I can do it just fine without that one. And there's always SoG/NJ to shut down FBTN/Thorns.

Definitely add Uzzah, the problem with trembling demon + HoH is that it takes two cards to set up.

I would love to fit in Goliath and Bringing Fear. Question would be what to take out.

Uzzah takes two cards as well, and you actually lose both. Trembling you're only forced into activating HoH (not the end of the world), and you lost the evil character. Combining the two means you use 3 cards for 2 blocks.

EDIT: dropped Obedience of Noah and switched Simeon with Dan.

OK you have one slot right now, so I would take out the site guard for the anti-withdraw soul. And add in Goliath.

OR

Take out twice afflicted, and either RDJ or Gold Shield (you could take out both if you want to put in Torment) for Uzzah, Trembler, and HoH.

Site Guard is so good. I'd rather drop site remover.

I playtested this a bit today and it was decent, but not fast enough. I made a few modifications that I don't remember, but basically the same deck. I think I should be able to trim down the defense and switch offenses and be okay, but it'll need some serious work.

Site remover is fine too.  I would love to see the changes you've made to this deck I really like  it.  Also if you do take it to a tourney a report on how it does would be cool.   :)

Rome hurts more than it helps. It gives your Emps first strike witch pretty much guarantees init to the Hero and most battles are decided with battle winners, not numbers.

The hero is guaranteed inish with 10/1 anyway, and it helps in Aaron+Moses battles. Plus, I'll be using Namaan's Chariot and Horses for my Emperors. Rome also allows me to drop Wrath of Stan.
