HELP :) :)

Traditional FBTNB has:
Helez
Ira
Israelite Archer
Benaniah
Asahel
Heldai
Ishmaiah
Maharai
That is the basic skeleton. Some also use
Captain of the Host
The Strong Angel
but some do not due to consistency issues (only Israelite Archer bands to them). Some also expand with:
Jacob
Simeon
Moses
The Angel under the Oak
Captain of the Host
Since Captain also has synergy with Archer from the traditional banding, its a pretty consistent sub-theme. Also, the extra drawing from Oak is a welcome addition to FBTNB, since one of the decks glaring weaknesses is the lack of speed.
Some also add an Abishai to the lineup to enable Foreign Sword (easily one of the best, if not the best, enhancement in FBTNB arsenal) going live more often.

Jacob
Simeon
Moses
The Angel under the Oak
Captain of the Host
If you choose to go this route, Aaron is a great add to band to Moses. You can then include First Fruits (which can be played on Maharai as well) for more speed. Phineas, Urim and Thummim, and Pentecost/Zadok Annoints Solomon are also good options to expand on Teal.

Right now there are two kinds of FBTNB decks. The traditional W/C banding one, here (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/national-tournament-winners/2012-nationals-t1-2p-1st-place-deck/). And the one that generally just negates characters, found here (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/national-tournament-winners/t1-2p-2nd-place-auto2/)
Those decks went 1 and 2 at nats this year, so those heroes are generally a good place to start.

ok....... what has been the most popular defense?

Pharisees, Assyrian/Magicians, or splash Gray/Pale Green (Pretty much just Damsel, Assyrian Survivor, Confusion, Death of Unrighteous, Emperor Vittles, Sabbath Breaker, and Balaam's Disobedience). Maybe add a Balaam, Covenant with Death, and Magic Charms.

Brown is still in there. Uzzah still puts in work against some decks and Amalekites Slave is still one of the best toolbox/soul gen EC's, with both of course being great ways to enable Hamans plot, one of the few viable ways to stop the meta offense. King Manasseh is also an easy shoe-in, being a Magician and having both pale green and brown. Not to mention having a built in auto-win if need be.
