Title: Failed Silver/Orange
Post by: Master Q on May 17, 2019, 12:20:05 PM
You can guess the idea of this deck and why it failed. It is super fast and has outdrawn me nearly every game, but it just didn't have enough backup to win the long game once you pick it apart.

LS: 7
Humble
Darkness
Wanderer
Prosperity
Dull
Imitate
Lawless

Doms: 7
SoG
TSC
AotL
Grapes
3 Woes
CM
FA (w)

Support: 9
Book of the Covenant
The Great White Throne
Endless Treasures
Blindness
Sheol
The Gates of Hell
Babylon/The Harlot
Ends
Patmos

Heroes: 9
Michael, the Archangel
Captain of the Host (PoC)
The Strong Angel (RoJ)
AutO
Joshua, Son of Nun
Angels of Wrath
Angel of Might
Servant Angel
The Four Living Creatures

GE: 4
Wheel Within A Wheel
Hailstones
Angelic Guidance
Everlasting Beings

DAC: 3
Fourth Bowl of Wrath
Fifth Bowl of Wrath
War in Heaven

EC: 8
KoT (PoC)
The Morning Star
Red Dragon
Abaddon
Messenger of Satan
The False Prophet
Damsel
Kings of the Earth

EE: 3
Everyman’s Sword
The Wages of Sin
Blasphemies

Reserve: 10
I am Creator
You Will Remain
Covenant of Prayer
Second Bowl of Wrath
Seventh Bowl of Wrath
Lost Anointing
Coliseum
Covenant with Death
Foreign Wives
Dragon’s Wrath

It probably can win games, but against the deck I was playing it was having no luck. A few tweaks will make it much better. I think Silver & Orange can still be competitive if done right.

So you're saying Voltron Mike isn't that great?

I'm saying only 1 (2 with Woes, sometimes 0 if War is played on evil) offensive negate isn't that great. OT Mike with Angel's Sword for Captain is something we haven't tried, but I'm sure we will. Captain's draw is also really unnecessary. :P

As someone who has had pretty extensive success with Revelation Angels, I would cut 4 Living Creatures for Angel of Revelation. He is like Ends as a Hero (pretty much his only drawback is that he is not WC so Michael can't band to him).

I would also cut Great White Throne to add Day of Fury to give yourself more firepower. Between Book/IaC, Patmos, Angelic Guidance and Wheel, you have plenty of ways to get Heroes out.

Fire Foxes is also a nice EC to complement that offense because he can shuffle Patmos to give you an extra use, and Foxes usually won't stay on the table to mess with Sheol.

Then cut your worst Hero to put it back in ;)

Then swap it for Chamber of Angels.

This deck was very much like yours and hadn't changed up until just recently. The defense in that deck was more effective. I'm pretty set on cutting:

Sheol
Babylon/Harlot
4 Living Creatures
Wheel
False Prophet
Kings of the Earth
Everyman's Sword
Coliseum...

...For some TBD things. I will say Rev Angels do have an edge with the Angelic Army, and the deck takes a hit without it. But Oak - Josh - Captain is so good...

Angel of Rev was in back then but I don't recall it winning many battles (against me, anyway). Nice for init but prone to FBTN, auto-blocks, and Dom blocks. DoF is nice, but Hailstones is basically that. I'm thinking Striking Herod and possibly another interrupt would do a bit more.

Fire Foxes is a possible reinclusion if Babel loses a bit of its popularity. Then again, the defense will probably be overhauled.

Don't give anyone any ideas. I could throw that in there and it would probably be appreciated.  ::)

Angel of Rev is one of those Heroes that ideally you won't need, but when you do need him, he's very clutch. With how fast Heroes come out in that offense, he's nearly always a + 1 in terms of getting through your deck, and bringing him off an Everlasting band can set up future attacks. He's also very nice for using 4th Bowl and targeting a human outside of battle while maintaining initiative.

That's a good point about Hailstones/Day of Fury. Death of Firstborn is probably a better choice than Striking Herod though.
