I need some help w/ my Stand-alone Angels... I'm needing a good defense for them that will hurt/destroy the current meta offenses. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not ditching my Angels so Plz don't ask me to.
-
The current meta is FAST with lots of CBN discards and ignores. You'll need an appreciably fast defense, I suggest Egyptians or Phars. You'll also need a way to make them waste battlewinners. Banding (Which both Egyptians and Phars have) is one good way, as most Sam winners only hit one EC. Other ways are GoH and Unknown Nation (which fits nicely with Pithom).
-
I agree with SK. Also, if you build it right, Egyptian control (hand/deck discard, etc.) can mesh really well with similar special abilities that silver has (that one milling hero, for example).
-
Okay! That could be useful. So would I base more on Genesis or just general Egyptians?
-
I would recommend splashing some Genesis blue in with your angels, they would mesh well with your egyptians.
-
I already do that w/ Jacob (I may add another so I can use Pleading for a City, etc.)
-
How exactly does blue mesh with Egyptians?

Blue=Genesis. They basically mesh because of every card in the Joseph tin.

I would add in Rachel to band to Jacob then.
-
The main reason they work together is that u don't have to worry about them being converted, they'll still let Zeb and Ben work just fine.
So what Enh. Should I use for them?
-
You can probably go without enhancements for them, but if you want to, you could use OoN, which works great with Jacob.
-
I meant for Egyptians.
-
Failed Objective definitely. Invoking Terror is a great repeatable battle winner with E. Magicians.

This, and Wonders Forgotten.
-
Should I run Evil Spirit or spear or Enslaved by Egypt, or Moses kills Egyptian?
-
No, but you should run Swift Horses and Egyptian Horses. Make sure you use Storehouse for Zeb and Dreaming Pharaoh.
-
Don't forget either Seven Years of Plenty or Seven Years of Famine. Normally, I'd only recommend SYoP, but SYoF is pretty anti-meta.

I'm not using Zeb. Its still an Angel deck w/ Jacob. As to 7yoP & Famine, I may run 7yoP to pull my forts but not so much for 7yoF. Also, why not Enslaved by Egypt or Moses kills Egyptian? I don't see running Swift Horses or Egyptian Horses if I don't have anything else to play to them.
-
They're both bad. MKE is fully negatable, and Enslaved by Egypt requires Egypt (a dead card) to be CBN, but Capture is easily protected from, and both of them only target one Hero in an era where banding is king.
Swift Horses is +3 and Egyptian Horses is +2 perhaps multiple times. Playing Wonders Forgotten off either is a very good play, and you have FO too. Even if you had no other EE's, they'd still go in for the extra drawing (which a slow offense requires to function).

Actually, most decks can't protect from Capture (ie. TGT, and Sam & Genesis Decks can't) Besides I still run Idols too so I can kill that problem of banding.
Also, any suggestions of how to get rid of Sites/Fortresses w/ Angel/Egyptians?

Most of those decks run blue Tassels to stop soul gen/capture.

Egyptians have spreading the mildew, but that's really only good if you have high places.
-
I havent seen Blue Tassles yet, and besides nothing stops EC's from being captured.
Yea, Spreading Mildew is a waste... I'm thinking of putting Burning Sensor in.
-
Interesting meta you play in. If you want to use capture go ahead then. On another note, I would recommend tassels in your deck. It's a great anti-meta card because it actually does stop ECs from being captured, most importantly the self capture ones like TAS, who are prominent in meta decks.
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: No character may be captured. Prevents Unholy Writ. • Play As: Protect all characters from capture abilities. Prevent Unholy Writ.

Hmm... Anyway, If I do take it out, I might put Kir in there, and I'll also be putting in some stuff like Pergamum because I have Color-Guard in there.
